Yea it can really fuck you over. I'd try to be in on it if you can.
I drafted my team today for my other league and placed dead last in their ranking system. Guess what. I got some of the top players. I bet I'm going to smash their guts out this year. The rankings are all fucking stupid right now.

Alright so it's getting down to the wire here, we need to make some decisions. With 11 teams, we can make it work in one of 3 ways:
1.) Bye weeks. Each week, one team will have a bye week. The crappy part here is the regular season can only be 11 weeks, which means the playoffs will start in week 12, which is a bit early.
2.) Dummy team. Instead of a bye week, we have a dummy 12th team someone will play each week. The dummy team's score is the league average of points for that week. I've been in this kind of league before too, it's kinda cool, and also eliminates the problem with a bye week.
3.) Doubleheaders. Not sure if anyone else has done this before, but I have and it's really fun. The idea here is that each team plays 2 other teams each week. That makes it an even number of games and it eliminates bye weeks. The only problem here is that NFL.com and ESPN don't support leagues with an odd number of teams. Yahoo does, I've used Yahoo for fantasy, not sure if anyone else has.
What does everyone think? If I don't hear a resounding consensus by the end of the day today, I'll probably go with option 2 because I FREAKING HATE bye weeks.
Also, I haven't received PMs yet from amnesiac305, MSUsousaphone, samzadgan, hclapp219, or jwar. Please PM me your email addresses. I may be able to dig through my old emails and find some of them, but you could all save me time

I'd vote option 2 (labeled as 3), the dummy team. Doubleheaders sounds fun, but time consuming.

You caught me, I flubbed the numbers because I typed them out in a different order. Ninja'd.

No dummy teams. That can really fuck shit up. I'd rather have a bi week dude. It's bs when someone wins or loses against a dummy team. Plus someone still has to manage that shit. So what if somehow the damn dummy team wins? That doesn't sound like a good idea to me at all.
I'll PM you my email. I'd prefer to use ESPN or NFL if at all possible. I mean no sense in anyone learning that Yahoo nonsense.
So I'm down for a bi week unless someone can step up. Come on guys!!!!!

The Dummy team won't be a team at all, there's nothing to manage and it can't make the playoffs. It's just that instead of a bye week, your team goes against he league average score (or median, if people would prefer it that way, so one insanely awesome week by a team doesn't skew the average). I've just always found bye weeks in a fantasy season to be insanely lame. Someone is going to have a bye in week 11, when everyone's fighting for a playoff spot, and that team will be sitting there with their thumb up their ass, not able to do anything but watch everyone else to see if they get into the playoffs.

I had a by week in my NLF team during play offs last year. Didn't bother me any. I mean it's whatever. I just don't want to have to learn a whole new system if it's avoidable. What are the pros of Yahoo's? Do they have an app? Is their point system less stupid than ESPN's?
I'm fine with whatever. Just would like to know ahead of time so I can actually figure out how to use it.

Really not that much time at all. You just have to set your line up every week and make sure your players aren't on bi week, hurt or kicked out for beating their wife in an elevator.

OH! Or for drugs!!!
It does give you something to talk about for sure! Really you don't even have to watch the games if you watch the stats.

A bye week in the playoffs is different, that's a reward for being awesome, letting you skip to the next round. But in the regular season, it's a week when you have to just sit there and your team is idle while everyone else is playing. And I feel really really bad for whoever gets the last week before the playoffs as their bye week, their fate will be completely decided by other teams.
There's nothing new you have to learn at all. I'm totally fine with doing the league on NFL.com, which is where you wanted it. I just want to eliminate bye weeks, that's all. But I'm no dictator. If everyone else wants bye weeks, I'll do it. I just want everyone's opinions.

Yahoo is, far and away, the most intuitive fantasy website out there. They have an app. Their point system is more legible. You're not supporting Skip Bayless.

I'm down with any site and any rules, but don't they all have apps?
Also if gnomethrone plays, no more bye weeks. Gnomethrone, you should play, I don't think any of us take it too seriously, plus you can win pedals!
