I was pretty excited so i ended up doing basically the whole thing yesterday.
Now I have plenty of time to scrap it and re-do it until there's no time left

am not sure if anything i attempt to do for this will come out good re audio, still finding my voice re drone, but am more confident that i could deliver an interesting visual to fill one page of a cd size booklet if that was of use?
am not sure if visual contributions can only be accepted/considered with an audio or whether they can be submitted independently. there may be audio people who don't have images so might all balance out.
but i would say i'm definitely in for a visual (if you want it) and maybe for the audio.
i say maybe for the audio because if i can't do 'great' i won't submit just 'ok' just for the hell of it, because i don't want to dilute the quality of the ilf pack with just 'ok'.
and i vote resincum and dos as god-like project overseers if they want the role and if they are already not accepted as such. there needs to be someone who gets final call on final cut. if this thing gets way oversubscribed selection may be inevitable and since the idea came from them they should get to own it re direction it takes.

I'm sure that I am in the minority, but I feel obliged to say that even though I am not at all a professional musician I still take my music very seriously and am not interested in being a part of anything called boners/dronebone/etc. My loss perhaps, but an acceptable one as far as I see it. YMMV.

Actually that probably goes for me to. I haven't been on this forum long enough to have "boner" in my daily vocabulary...
I'm just trying to fit in

I could just be being dense here, but what about taking your music very seriously doesn't jive with being a part of anything called boners/dronebone/etc.? I mean, different strokes for different folks but this seems like a bit of extraordinarily arbitrary line in the sand/moral high ground seizing/whinging handringing to me. For your consideration, I present several songs and albums about boners that were taken, I suspect, somewhat seriously by their creators:

In other words, while I don't care one way or the other about the name, I do very much take issue with the suggestion that the people who are bandying about this idea are fundamentally taking their music "less seriously" than you are, you pair of fucking scarf wearing Church-Lady-Lite librarians in waiting. Make me some tea and lets talk in hushed tones about
serious social issues on your own time and you can slip out of your sweatervest if you want to, but this is clearly some frivolous bullshit.
(we can totes change the name, though. Idgaf. Also this reads more serious than it might aught to be read. Don't be mad.)

As to this, I appreciate the sentiment (both in regards to the vote of confidence and the suggestion of having a bar of quality as an entry examination), but while I can't speak for RC my suspicion is that he would rather put out something that features everyone who is interested in participating rather than not. Also, I like everyone in this thread (even if they're weirdos who don't like dick jokes in 'serious music') and unless there's an absolute need I'd rather not be all "better luck next time broheim" to someone who may have put an awful lot of work into this, affected buy the messier parts of Dunning-Kruger or not.
