The same thing happened with a trade I did recently, delivery date was supposed to be yesterday but tracking info stated that it arrived in bangor then shipped to ellsworth (?) then tracking info stated that it was out for delivery in which I waited for it to arrive pretty much all day, then I checked tracking info before I crashed out last night still out for delivery

finally showed up today..........long story short usps tracking is unreliable.

Dude. That's wack. My cables left Yakima on the 7th, it took them a full week to traverse two states.
I hate FedEx. Their tracking is really unreliable across the southwest and they crush everything.

So I recycled a USPS priority mail box...just reused it (don't feel like I should waste and they encourage it on their packaging). Reverb sold me a parcel select label and I didn't think a damn thing about it.
Damn USPS post office kept the damn box at the delivery post office and demanded that the recipient pay for the difference! The thing was the stupid parcel select was like a dollar less! Stupid Reverb and post office! Who cares what box it is in? It is just a box! This has never been a problem recycling boxes until now... (not to mention it took 2 weeks almost! 2! If they are charging for the use of priority mail...then they should have shipped the damn thing in 2 or 3 days, not 8 or 9....seriously pissed...just angry...now I gotta refund like a dollar or something...)
Reverb sucks (their shipping is literally a joke...parcel select, really? But if I don't use it, I don't get whatever stupid protection they offer (which is probably BS anyway)); USPS is starting to suck; FedEx, UPS, and DHL should have died as companies years ago...hell with it...everytime they take an extra day I am going to go down there and demand a refund. I don't have time to sort out their problems (and "2-day" is starting to look like 5-7...seriously...these LA post offices are not even scanning them in their facility for 3 damn days....3 days it sits there, hell)
Sorry, pissed
I did some research...some dude got in trouble with the federal government for reusing a priority mail box...because they are government property (but on a box I had, it said something like "Please reuse this box!")...That story was from 2008...so I dunno...Then I read elsewhere that they are enforcing every little thing because it is the end of the year, so maybe bad luck?
Anyway, filed a complaint with reverb and their lack of information and choices on shipping (still, never had this problem before). Man, I know it is over a few dollars but this is terrible treatment...officially done with reverb as a seller (done with ebay too because of the fees and weird ratings). I know reverb wont fix anything. I hate the gear trade....seriously.

Definitely noticed a slow down since last week with USPS. Stuff getting delivered 1-2 days after the original scheduled date. Luckily nothing longer than that or nothing lost.

It all worked out fine...luckily.
But I did ship my secret satan gift two day and it took 5 (the same day I send my parents gifts and it took 7 or 8...like geez..all were 2 day). When they actually scanned them at the post office (which was the hold up for 3 days) everything moved (except the extra day or two to my parents...but they live on an island, so I kind of expect that).

I sent amorphous some tubes and a sweet strap the other day. It's just been chillin' at the post office in Portland for a couple days. Nevermind that the package is going to Eugene.

Hey for anybody shipping across a border only use anything but USPS.
All the other assholes charge a "brokerage fee" to get it across the border which the recipient has to pay on top of customs.
Like if they paid customs and then I have to pay a nominal fee for that yeah maybe I can get that but charging me both just to drive something across a border, and a really easy one to cross at that, is absurd

I just sold a used pedaltrain 2 via reverb. Put that thing up for sale this morning and someone snapped it right up. It just occurred to me though - what the hell am I going to ship it in? I'm used to shipping these tiny metal boxes and the USPS provides real well on that front. What makes a good shipping box for a big-assed pedalboard?

Anything you can find. Not trying to be a smart ass but sometimes boxes that size are hard to come by if you don't have access to random boxes.
Sometimes I will try and macgyver a box out of several boxes by cutting them to fit the item just right and use a shitload of packaging tap to hold them all together.

Yeah, I figured they'd be hard to come by. I'm kicking myself because last week my IT dept got a whole bunch of new computer monitors in and left a bunch of boxes in a big pile by the recycling. I bet they would have fit, but they're all gone now.

Public Service Announcement: a Pedaltrain 2 in a soft-shell case fits snugly into a cut-down guitar box. Be sure to make your cuts a few inches above where the pedalboard ends so that you can also cut in some cool diy end-flaps. I also managed to get one of those computer monitor boxes from the IT guys, because they got another shipment yesterday, but it was way too small.

I'm outside Chattanooga. Last month I bought a pedal on a Saturday. With the Monday holiday, it went out on Tuesday. From Nashville to Chattanooga, it should have been driven the 130 miles in a day's time. Instead the post office put it on a fucking airplane and flew it to the suburbs of LA. Then after a couple more days of dicking around, they flew it to Greensboro, NC, which is about 380 miles northeast of where I live. Atlanta, Chattanooga, Knoxville, Louisville, and several other airports are all closer to me. After a couple more days of delays it was flown back to Nashville. It took 8 days and about 5,000 miles to complete what should've been around 160 miles from Nashville to my house.
The thing that really pissed me off is that I had to pay sales tax because it was an in-state purchase. It just feels wrong paying about $18 in taxes, when the damn thing was flown in from California. If I had known it would take so long, I would've just bought something else. Waiting for gear to arrive is such a pain in the ass.
