I think the TAFM is big muff based?

Aha I knew it was either a fuzz face or big muff but always get confused cause it sounds so singular of itself.

I have a few clones, and one Real McCoy.

My Big Muffarray. Basically followed the blueprint of the original Swollen Pickle, using an array transistor chip.





A "Big Bear Muff". Basically a challenge thrown down by Steve Daniels (Smallbear Electronics) to design a circuit using the Bare Box platform.





Managed to get my hands on one of the last chrome housings from pedalenclosures before it went under. Went whole hog, and threw in light up knobs.





Last, but not least, "The Majestic", my Civil War Muff.





Plural marriage is not for everyone. That's enough muff for me.

4/4 would wreck those Muffs

A muff with a bunch of gain stages removed. Sounds fat and open.

If it's the same fuzz circuit as the Jumbo Tonebender one of the more noticeable differences is that it has feedback-loop diode clipping just on the third gain stage instead of the second and third. Easy thing to make switchable in any Muff, and Biyang does just that in the clones they build for themselves and others. Tends to work easier for bass that way. (Yes, there are other differences, but that is a trick anybody who does a little DIY should know about.)

I have a few more I keep on close hand for normal recording:

My Muff collection has been drastically reduced over the last couple years.

But I still have these variations (Trifecta is my favorite):

Craigslist was very generous today, and added a second muff to my collection. Muff on the left is my V5 op-amp I've had for awhile. The second muff I just scored this morning, is a very rare Marveltone distortion sustainer. Jumped on that like flies on shit first thing this morning. $75 for a violet rams head muff, fuckin right, I was off the commode before i could even finish pinching my loaf this morning...

No photos as of now, but:

Earthbound Audio Supercollider (V1 with the mids toggle)
Fuzzroucious Grey 'Stashe (also V1, latching osc.)
Black Arts Toneworks Badascan (an LSTR with Pharoah tone controls)
And the Schlatte's D.o.S. Fuzz (a Civil War/Russian hybrid with a bandaxall tone stack. 9 out of 10 doctors say it's the best fuzz for doom)

Just sold my V7C Muff. Sad day.

Thankfully I has a LSTR to console me.

This is embarrassing... I don't even have any muffs... How epic is the supercollider? Been wanting one for ages
