basically, he lied and told me he took the thread to the fbi because i threatened him with a bomb (what a fucking idiot).

i called the fbi office he supposedly went to and the special agent told me that if he would have actually gone there with the printed out thread, they would have laughed him out of the office.

as i was typing this, he called me and threatned me, telling me i was going to "feel it" and that i would be "crying". also he told me he was gonna sue me, in the midst of all that. so, im pretty freaked out now. i just called my local cops to file a report and im gonna press charges if i can.

IMO you didn't say anything in that thread that was actionable (i am not a lawyer, but worked in law libraries for years). saying you're going to send someone a spunk bomb does not qualify as a "tort," since it's so obviously absurd (who keeps that much jizz around other than a sperm bank?). there's no way he can make a case that he was harmed in any way, nor given his anonymity can he complain about libel or slander. he's full of shit...if he didn't call the FBI, which is free, how likely is it that he would PAY to sic a lawyer on you?

if you feel like you have to talk to an attorney, your local Bar Association has a lawyer referral service (it's the osbar link above)...when i needed legal aid during my recent split the CA Bar had a referral program which matches people with lawyers by their specialties and subsidises the fee for a one-hour consultation to an affordable cost ($50). but honestly, i think you're letting him continue to troll you even after the thread disappeared and the Banhammer was unleashed. try to relax and get him off your mind.

Wow, this dude is legit psycho, and is breaking the law. tell them what has happened and you can get a no contact order. So basically if the dude even calls your phone, you take that phone record in and he goes to jail for violating the order. He has commited verbal assault as well as harrasment and could be said to be terrorizing you if he's really going that far.
Personally I'd just block his number and forget about him. He's an attention seeking blowhard and what was just said?

it's not the first time i've seen people escalate to threats of lawsuit on the Internet. there's a certain type of blowhard who uses "lawyer" the same way a more typical troll says "kick your ass." and if i had a quarter for every time i've told someone "really? come on over...e-mail me and i'll send you my address" in response to those sorts of threats i could at least buy one of those bargain strawberry lemonades at Burger King.
