run or step to go from one ring to the next. only control it has beyond that is the frequency. no mix or anything else. granted it's 8 ring mods packed into one, but 8 of the most minimal ring mods possible. all you can do w/ it. i've used it for two shows and then tossed it aside. fun but obviously not one i use often.

oh bummer, I feel like it would be more fun to have more control of it.space6oy wrote:run or step to go from one ring to the next. only control it has beyond that is the frequency. no mix or anything else. granted it's 8 ring mods packed into one, but 8 of the most minimal ring mods possible. all you can do w/ it. i've used it for two shows and then tossed it aside. fun but obviously not one i use often.

I'd use a Fooger but Sylnau is the only person that has made a demo with a Ring Mod on guitar that I can even listen too...

Re: What's your favorite ring modulator?
it would. not sure what room's like inside but adding a mix control at least would make it better. hmm...ChetMagongalo wrote:oh bummer, I feel like it would be more fun to have more control of it.space6oy wrote:run or step to go from one ring to the next. only control it has beyond that is the frequency. no mix or anything else. granted it's 8 ring mods packed into one, but 8 of the most minimal ring mods possible. all you can do w/ it. i've used it for two shows and then tossed it aside. fun but obviously not one i use often.

Ugh. HATE ring mods. Randy's Revenge is the BEST imo. The rest sound fucking awful.

Yes. That was the first Ring Mod I tried that I didn't like.

Re: What's your favorite ring modulator?
Had my Randy for a few days now and I love it. The tremolo is so lush I'm considering getting rid of my trem pedal. When the "bell" sound hit right it's so nice. I've never had the chance to mess with a ring mod before so I'm having to get used to the new sounds and finding new ways to stack it with my other pedals. The cv controls are really useful. I used it to run my Rainbow Machine and I was getting some awesome weirdness out of them. I'm gonna try to get my buddy to loan me his so I can use the cv out of one to control the other

That's really really disappointing to hear about the Ringworm. I really don't need to get into Moog stuff as I don't have even close to the wallet for it. Right now I've got a green ringer clone on my board but I'd love to get some sort of ring mod craziness on there as it's on the tamer side of things. Maybe an EHX FA will do the trick.

I love my mf-102. Even without the patching options the range of sounds available is insane.
The patching options just make it that much more versatile. Now I've got an mf-101 on the way.
The only bad part is... I know my next free 385$ will be going to cp251... instead of savings

The Moog sounds beautiful, and is super flexible. I think it is the best hands down. The Ring Thing can do cool stuff too. Not really familiar with Randy's Revenge.
Not too into the Frequency Analyzer - somewhat limited, and requires it's own power supply to get you there. If it was tiny and worked on 9v I would reconsider.
Cheap/sleeper pick: Ibanez PM7. Ringmod is just one of the things it can do.

I have the Minifooger and I love it! I use it a ton for my noise band. You really need an expression pedal to make the magic happen though. I have no problem doing the Roulette Dares thing just sweeping it up and down. I might be the only person who owns/likes the Mini Ring!

Got the vitruvian the other day. Definitely cool but will post more in a few days. Broke the nut on my electric and have just been playing an acoustic through my amp so Im not getting the full effect with the acoustic being louder than I feel comfortable running my amp in an apartment
