Yeah, I've been going through some stuff with my band. They're both my best friends, yet I write and do EVERYTHING. Bands suck man.

Someone please send this to Billy every day until all his pent-up rage erupts, his head turns to actual chrome and he engages his final form: Ultimo-Corgon, where he finally starts to hate fuck every skyscraper in Japan demanding an explanation, weeping tears of mercury down on the innocent bystanders below while proclaiming to be the greatest musician of all time, including the future.
f'reals. i'm lucky where me and my drama are so on the same page. if it's not fun, we don't want to do it, but we both have done band stuff enough to be ok with the normal bullshit that comes along with gigging. we were both laughing about First Time Your GrrL Wants To Come Along Show Day. which, invariably, is the LAST time. oh, you thought this shit was GLAMOROUS? or QUICK? no no no no NO. it's meet up at 5 to load stuff up to get there by 6 or 7 to do a soundcheck and sit around until 9-11 and play an hour then wait until 2 to get paid and go back to the practice spot and unload and MAYBE get home by 3. to get a few hours sleep before working 8 hours at something that actually pays some money. to buy more gear. to spend more countless hours writing and learning stuff. to play 1 hour out of every 10 during a show day. WHOOOOOOOO. Rokk. STAR. bishes.
that's what had me spooked the most at first though. i wish her the best and am sad it didn't work out, she's a helluva singer, but me and Paul went from diddling around with the same half finished chunks of songs to just railing through a new entire song ever time we were working on writing after we got her. i was afraid that productivity would once it was the 2 of us again. but it hasna. haven't really missed a step. i do miss vocals, but this is mad fun like this too.
lol. Paul..... is kinda pushing for the 2 piece thing. urf. dunno. i like SONGS. and i don't want to be responsible for coming up with all the non-drummy music parts. i like bouncing off of other people's ideas and shit y'know?

Yes. All this. ALL OF IT!
I'm sure you guys will do just fine without a vocalist until the right one turns up. But I totally understand the desire to have other bandmates to bounce stuff around with.
