You know a musician who doesn't piss me off? Trent Reznor. That dude is the fucking shit for real. Probably one of the most innovative and awesome dudes alive in music today. I want to have Trent's babies.

Not a Trent fan.
But I fucking hate all vocalists who's band "makes it" and then they break up a good thing to go off and do a solo project. Fuck you. You made it because the band was good. Most of those solo projects fucking bomb...so you'd think the bitch ass singers would stop being stupid and stick with the other guys who collectively got the band where it is...but NO...those motherfuckers think they're the reason the band made it.....so they go off and wreck their shit while totally wrecking the careers of the other people in the band.
Fuck singers. But you guys said musicians...sorry I went off on a tengent.

oh, and i guess The Adicts now. because their drummer was pissed about something and punched Jack Terricloth of WIFS in the face after he was congratulating the drummer for a great set, then the Adicts' singer kicked them off the tour for what essentially amounts to the drummer's fault entirely.

Wynton Marsalis and fuck you if you're gonna defend him. and quite frankly any jazz artist that thinks theres a right way to make jazz and/or ascribes to old as shit stagnant jazz dialects that are literally killing the genre.
most noise artists up their own ass about being avant-garde. the whole scene is a self-fellating stagnant pool.
any band calling themselves "experimental" when they do shit that was done by guys in the 90's and 80's.
literally any guitarist on the candyrat label. they saturated the market, and now no one gives a shit about tapping on acoustic guitars and using the same fucking tunings everyone else uses to make glorified new age music.

I liked it better the first time when Albert King played it. Then along came SRV with his impressions. Now we get KWS impersonating the guy impersonating Albert. it's kinda sad.

I was soundman on an interview with Wynton Marsalis a couple of years ago, and I was astounded by how well-spoken and open-minded he seemed, despite me not being a real fan of his music. Then I read about his dismissing of most jazz that I enjoy.

I really really do. People who idolise those guys who can play loads of notes in a short space of time just gets to me. And that's stupid, because it's their musical taste and they can like whatever they want, but that stuff bores me to death. I have a much bigger problem with people liking music that I see as being technically impressive for the sake of being impressive than I do with people liking generic pop music.

i will defend Wynton's tone on the instrument. but that's all. i don't even like his
suits. i can't stand it when people insist that a type of music is THIS and ONLY THIS and dismiss anything that isn't part of their own taste and skill set. he was THIS far from my list, but i decided he didn't matter that much to me.

i've related before my immediate response to my first hearing SRV: "oh, GREAT, another fucking white boy who thinks he's Albert King!" i've credited him for getting better than that, but c'mon, wiggas, please. if you're going to pick a blues giant to emulate, don't pick an actual
giant, a guy with hands the size of ham hocks who could bend an .013 first string all the way across the damn fingerboard.
