they say it was liver failure...but its probably linked to all the issues his had in the last few years. But i remember reading a few weeks ago that he was going to come back and join up with the band again on their tours. felt like i got punched in the guts when i read this...its really sad.

So This chick wants to jam but she plays in whole step down standard. D G C F A D. i wanna doom out way harder though so im trying to find out what to tune the low 7th to.
I tried {octave down} D DGCFAD ( way too floppy :( ) and G DGCFAD Also A DGCFAD which gives me a second third when i bar the top two and play a power chord But im having trouble meshing the two here. what you guys think??

I play a seven string in my band while the other guitarist plays a six string. He tunes to D standard while I tune to A D G C F A D. Everything has worked out fine for us so far. There are only a few sections where we are both banging out power chords. Usually we shift around what octaves we play so we rarely play the same pitch and instead we are layering what we play.

I still listen to Korn and had a 7-string last year.

Congrats man! Now in a few years are you guys gonna be posting about how your kids act over on TGP?

Only if I start making triple what I do now and have a room full of vintage Marshalls that only ever get turned up to 1 then attenuated all to hell.

So....probably?

The funny thing is, TGP in general doesn't like vintage Marshall. They're more vintage Fender and Dumble.

The heel on that guy looks freaking cool...but...idk about spending 849 on a Korean made LP when i could spend the same or less on a Japanese made Edwards Les Paul. Japanese take pride in their woodworking...something I can't say for most of the Korean guitars I've owned.

Oh, sweet. I heard they were pretty damn good guitars originally.

$850 is a steep price for a Korean-made instrument, especially when compared with Japanese imports, but they're not as easy to get a hold of and the prices for second-hand ones are going up gradually as more and more people discover their awesomeness.

Banging out Reign in Blood this evening. Man, it's such a shame that the reasonable one is dead, and Lombardo gets shafted whilst Kerry King is still around being a squat douche.

Awesome! Thanks for checking us out. We are planning on recording some new music soon since we have a new set up and new members so our sound has changed a bit since that recording. The newest song we are working on actually has some heavier parts to it since both the other guitarist and I are trying to bring out the doom.

Hello!

I'm happy to answer any KWB questions that anyone might have. The explanation above is spot on. I wish I had time to build more, but the day job and commute just suck my time away. I'm trying to sneak some out in the world when time permits.

Thanks!

I still actually want a new RG from time to time, but I have to remind myself that I never cared for how thin/flat the neck was. You had one of the Apex7 guitars right? That would actually be one of the ones I would look at if I had the spare chance - that flat green looked very snazzy on them.

And I don't really mind TGP - it is just too easy to pick on. I stop by from time to time since some of the hcfx crew post there now.

Another builder? :!!!:

My new Kramer XL8 showed up today. Was a bit of a basket case. I decided a complete refin/rebuild is in order.

I started a thread to document the progress here- viewtopic.php?f=192&t=33683

I managed to get it completely stripped, sanded and started the dye process and now it looks like this-

Hopefully it turns out nice and sounds as good as I anticipate. :doom:

Unfortunately, I don't have time to be catching up on everything since our epic dad convo before, as I'm supposed to be writing an essay on Beowulf and Sir Gawain...procrastinting. :picard:

Jeff dying is really sad. Not to mention unexpected.

Also, I came across this: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Vintage-ORANGE-4-X-12-/200920309525?pt=AU_Pro_Audio&hash=item2ec7c89f15
I have to ask, is this guy fucking serious?!
