I was the only kid in school that's cd collection went from Jungle Rot / Napalm Death / Incantation / Neurosis to Happy Hardcore Volumes 1-4, Paul Oakenfold and Lords of Acid.... I was utterly confused musically but it didn't matter to me, all i knew was the faster the beat the better the ecstasy felt

I could be wrong and in shock due to utter disbelief...

But...I just booked Mike Scheidt(solo) a house show in my humble hometown...

when i say drum machine, i mean a real physical one that i can use sticks or hands to tap on, not computer program. I'm thinking about doing the drums for our tracks and then giving that to the drummer to use and embellish on.

any thoughts or recommendations?

EDIT: just found this...looks like fun

You can't go wrong with jamming to a drum machine, either one with preprogrammed loops or free recordings. The way it aids you in keeping time and advances your recognition of rhythm is invaluable. However, it can be time-consuming if you like to dive into messing about with the guitar throughout the day in small sections of time. These days I spend less time thinking about what I play and more playing. Neither method was/is right or wrong, but using a drum machine for me right now isn't as useful as when I spent three hours composing music by myself. You could also use the drums in software like Clifton recommended, or even the midi drum samples from GuitarPro. I used that for years and discovered some very unique and creative licks in the process. But there was a huge learning curve and you needed patience and an open mind.

For a free 300w amp I might consider pitching it to Andrea.
