the normal reason is that its not traditional, the next reason would be its a pain in the ass to wire up that many sockets and find that much room on a chassis with a logical and feasible layout. The best reason tho is that when you have lots of power tubes, the phase inverter design becomes problematic.

I could have helped in this regard if I had known.

Derp. Duly noted for next time.

yea i am not sure where you bought the PT from but I could have gotten Heyboer to make you a custom one for relatively less than others. However no worries.

My tech ordered a Mercury.

that is what I figured. I have a set of those, the PT and OT. Easily cost me 500-600. They are for a personal build. I could have gotten Heyboer to make u clones for much less. The Merc set is nice but its pricey. Heyboer stuff is what I normally use on most of my amp builds, with the latest examples being the DA120 #002.

Also Kramer xl8 basket case is inbound to me. I plan on refinishing it and restoring it to fully funkshunall state. Might start a thread here for that if anyone is interested.

Also, I kinda dig blues traveler. they have one good album, and its tight as hell. THat guy has the clearest annunciation when he sings.

Seen BISON last night in Toronto, they were very tight.
Sounded great and were real loud.
The Haggatha drummer plays for them now I noticed! So sweet.

Seeing Sweet Cobra, Pig Destroyer, Municipal Waste and High on Fire tomorrow night at Dark Lord Day in Indiana. Pretty stoked. It's been a few years since I've seen Pig Destroyer and High On Fire.
