RE: Not being happy with a sound that has been the sound you've had for a while.

Even though my bass tone is perfectly serviceable there was something I wasn't liking about it (didn't help that I was comparing my active Warwick with Single Coils that has been the basis of my sound for 11 years to a passive Carl Thompson with Dual Humbuckers).

I thought I needed to change out pickups or gut the preamp and switch to a passive system but then I just gave into my tone and accepted it as it is what it is. It's solid and fits in the mix,...interacts with my Fuzzes just fine,...so why fix what isn't broke.
