Every once in a while I just watch these demos and smile.

That Model T / Rat video is the one that made me want one of those amps. Its also what made me wanna get a Rat. I bought a Sunn Solarus on ebay once and ran a Rat2 into it for about 30 minutes before the amp died. It was the heaviest tone ever.

So this popped up on my local craigslist: http://newyork.craigslist.org/brk/msg/3763402970.html. I actually don't know much about modern Matamps though.

They're awesome. I would buy that amp for that much money... if I could see pictures of the actual model, and find out the last time it had been looked at by a tech.

BUY IT! That's a great price on one of Matamp's best models, the 1224. Fuck, I wonder if he'd ship. No. I don't need another amp. I don't

Yeah I don't have too much spare cash right now so I kinda want to get it just because it is kinda rare and a decent price. I'm going to bed before you guys convince me to buy it.

looks like I'll have a new project to work on soon. Kramer xl8 in rough condition. Needs refinished and a tuner replaced. fortunately I have extra correct tuners from the four string I just did. Been wanting one of these since I found out they existed.

I cant wait to run it through the Peavey C400. :doom:

Massive bummer about the Verellan man, should be a fairly easy fix though.

Speaking of massive bummers, had another jam with new drummer tonight and shit was very fucking cool, till wifey got home with the news that her dad has cancer. not cool. That's some heavy scary shit. Makes me realize that you gotta enjoy as much of life as much as you can< while you can. They have these grand plans for retirement and work their asses off with the idea that some day it will all be worth it.

Sorry to hear that man. I have no idea about what type. My wife works in health care and tends to get crazy with the jargon. I get lost. She was saying that the tumor was walnut sized, was at the base o his brain stem and that the surgeons had determined that it had not been there long. Big issues are if the cancer origionated somewhere else, and if there was any permanent damage. Last we heard was the surgery went well, and that he had woken up and was lucid. Makes one think about life, and how you want to live it.

Four Roses is pretty widely available in Europe and there are a few bottlings they do that are only available in Europe. You can't go wrong with any Four Roses Single Barrel or Small Batch.

The cheap yellow label Four Roses is really nice actually, got this buttery finish on it, I always force it on folks who don't think they like bourbon. aha. Runs about the same price as Jim Beam too.
The selection downunder is pretty shit though, and the import duties make the prices insane. A bottle of Eagle Rare is ninety bucks over here!

 I'm gonna sound like a douche here, but I still think that Nick's internal wiring is neater / superior. Not saying this amp is bad by any stretch of the means, I love every bit of my Verellen gear, but I've never had anything from him that I didn't have to go in and fix something. When I got my brand new big spider his helper soldered the 9v barrel connections backwards, and when I got my skyhammer preamp I had to go in and replace the on/off switch (which was not his fault at all!) and also tidy up and reflow some of the connections on the bypass footswitch as out of the 20 strands in the wire only 3 or 4 were actually soldered onto the lugs. So it would cut in and out randomly, but since reflowing the connections its rock solid. I also found out that he doesn't even do alot of the basic soldering himself anymore, he mainly does design and over sight which is what allows him to still tour and mass produce amps / pedals. All that being said, the tone of his amps and pedals is superb / top notch / flat out amazing and the aesthetic is museum quality. I will continue to buy stuff from him in the future, but my first choice will always go to Dunwich.

Dude, if you have the funds you should scoop this in a heartbeat. Even if you don't like it on eBay these go for $2000-2400 so theres a decent margin. But I have a feeling you'd like it alot!!!

oh, i saw it now man, thanks a lot, that's a lot of help.

thank god those web pens, even unlimited, are so cheap in there, it's amazing. 10-15£ a month, i can definitely live with that. they cost 30-60€ here for unlimited service.
