The Whetstone really nice if you love the Small Stone but wish it had more controls/features. My biggest issue was the size, lotta board space for a phaser.

That Subdecay is the way to go if you want a do-it-all-style phaser with a small footprint.

God, I love American whiskey. Except for Tennessee Whiskey, that is.

EH Taylor is good as hell. In that price range I recommend Corsair's Triple Smoke or Ryemageddon. Both are great. Really, great.

For Easter, my aunt gave me a bottle of double-oaked Woodford Reserve, which is most excellent. <3 Bourbon

Right on, will do. I'm not a fan of rye -- the finish just sits unpleasantly with me. But good god I love most other whiskey, particularly bourbon. I just have to be attentive when drinking good stuff, because it has a tendency to disappear and suddenly I just drank a 45 dollar bottle of bourbon on a Tuesday which, admittedly, is not the worst thing in the world.

And I want a Muff.

Whats the best muff that he would be able to replicate? From known clones to original versions. I'm really digging the Shrine fuzz and I think Ive heard thats based off a Rams head.

Whats the best mods? I know tone bypass, mids knob, maybe a blend are usually good mods.

I'm think of using it for my bass rig, so maybe a bass boost or down octave or something, when I kick it on I want to make you crap your pants from bass.



Obviously it will all go into an absurdly large sized enclosure.

Well depending on how things pan out I might order one of these this summer, the custom headstock name is kinda cool... I'll have to ponder on that. I was looking for a 7 string flying v for a bit but never found one. I also think that Agile had some baritone teles or seven string teles a while ago, can't remember which one. Either way I was digging the pics wish that they still had them available.

Final exams start on Monday, and now my trousers are full. Today is the last day before insane all day all night revision kicks in to overdrive. Also my girlfriend's 21st is on the date of my first exam, so I feel bad that I can't really concentrate on her for that. Bricking it really badly because I'm right on the grade boundary between great degree, and pretty mediocre.

My favorite bass muffs are the Supercollider and the Grey 'Stache...there's a schematic floating around somewhere for the Supercollider, but it's a modded NYC while the 'stashe is somewhere between a Ram's head and a Civil War.

The SC is voiced more for pants-shittingly-heavy of those two, though.

Gibson / Epiphone makes a 7 string V, but I'm looking for something a lil less traditional looking. I believe they actually made both of those teles at different points, he has so many different spec builds at any given time you never know what hes gonna have or what you'll find used.

Eh, the same could be said for down tuned guitars too then. I mean look at bingripper, they way they are tuned is pretty much bass tuning as they are dropped to f# or some shit like that. I just say use the tools that feel comfortable to you.

I play a middle ground in my band where I cover a lot of different ground and I actually joined the band as a baritone player and then switched to the 7 string after we kicked out a guitar player. So I look at my 7 string as a baritone but with a higher string added on rather then a normal guitar with a lower end string. The 7 lets me play some "normal" guitar high notes and leads while still being able to bang out the low chords. It also lets me keep a low thump going some times when my bass player is playing something with a bit more movement or melody, which he has been doing a lot more of since we got rid of the other guy I just mentioned. We also have a song we haven't got a recording of yet (but we are planning on fixing soon) where me and the bass player are basically doubling each other for the first few bars in the same range. It gives us this really booming hit with the single notes and I kick on some reverb too for some nice ambience.

I've owned both and kept the Quasar DLX. Where the Whetstone is vintage and chewy sounding, the Subdecay is syrupy and clearer, in a very pleasing way of course. It doesn't have the grit and decay of the Whetstone, but still has the capacity to function as almost any phasing tone/era you can think of. I liked the sound of the Blackout Effectors, but it was too big and the controls were cumbersome. The controls of the Quasar are really intuitive and surprisingly easy to use once you get used to the complex digital control.

Damn, $4,000! You've definitely scored big time there. That should be a killer guitar. I thought it was just a bog standard USA version from the factory.

Yeah, Agile had a few Telecaster 7-string guitars for a while.

I used a 7-string for those very reasons. I do miss the extended range. One day I'll pick up another 7-string, but it's not in my immediate future.
