Me, too!

And there is much better bourbon in the $45 range than Bulleit 10 Year. Look into the E.H. Taylor Small Batch. Ought to be right around $40 dollars and it's exquisite. If you're a rye fan, find a bottle of Willet Rye for around the same price. If you're a rye fan on a budget, find a bottle of Rittenhouse for around $20.
God, I love American whiskey. Except for Tennessee Whiskey, that is.

Will look into those. I'm always on the hunt for interesting whiskeys.

Alcohol is just something I enjoy. I drink daily, a glass of wine or a small pour of bourbon with my partner each night to wind down from school/teaching. I don't smoke anymore, so it's a nice ritual.

Of course, I have been known to tie one on from time to time and get mighty wild. Like I said, to each her/his own!

I get the feeling that we would get along just fine in the real world :doom:

And re: whiskey I drink good beer and cheap fucking bourbon. Usually Evan Williams or something like that.

Ancient Astronaught wrote:Hey Jason! (dazedbyday) What kind of 7 string hollowbody is that your rocking? It looks sweet and I've been considering a 7 string instead of an 8 string lately (so I can tune to drop F, well C standard on the top 6 with a low F on the low string) and a hollowbody could be pretty sick. I saw something similar to yours made by maestro and it was relatively cheap (like 300$ shipped) so I was wondering your thoughts.

It is a grote guitar. Some Chinese copy company that I took a chance with and snagged off ebay for cheaper then their website. They have a website too which is actually kinda hilarious because they have an ibanez in their wallpaper on the home page. http://www.groteguitar.com/ They have a bunch of copies including some PRS ones.

I have to say I am actually impressed with the guitar overall. It isn't the best built, there are minor cosmetic problems, but overall is pretty solid. I replaced the pick ups with dimarzios, new electronics, a new nut and new tuners. But hell for about 450 total I have a pretty badass semi hollow seven string, which is almost nonexistent every where else. I haven't really had any feedback problems except when I have the rat or fuzz on and point the guitar at the amp. It is now my main guitar and don't play anything else in the band.

I only have one recording with it on there which is at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=el9p3EokaSY. That is a song from two shows ago and I am mainly doing some lead lines and I don't use the seventh string on that song. There is another guy on youtube that has a band or song called wax wings that has the same guitar but with stock pickups and he plays djenty type music if you want to check out that.

Hope that helps.

Okay so it is the guitars I found on ebay. The auction says their made by Maestro but the headstock says grote :idk: They look to me to be made in the same factory that builds Agile's guitars (like the new 8 string Kraken guitars). Which if they are is awesome, I loved my agiles and I would describe them just like how you describe your guitar. Now I just need to wait a few more months and save up some funds to get a new guitfiddle, especially since I have to sell my backup bass to fix my van. Luckily if I do that I should be able to keep my tele.

I will check out those videos tonight after work and report back. Thanks!!!!!

I have an agile harm extended scale which is bass VI length and it is great too. The other guitarist in my band plays a les paul agile copy too. They are all great guitars and if the grote is made in the same factory then it makes a lot of sense. I know if you contact the actual grote ebay seller they will put whatever you want on the head stock for like 30 bucks. I got mine from some whole seller in texas. And like I said in my previous post, grote just seems like a weird company anyway since they have ibanez clearly on the headstock of the guitar on their website. Oh well.

AngryGoldfish wrote:Thanks for that. I'll probably pass on one myself. My phaser requirements include tap-tempo and sub-divisions, so I'm left with only two or three phasers to choose from, and I have one of them already. For now I'm keen on picking up a dedicated vibe pedal. Glad you like it anyway!

What phaser you using Dan? Sounds neat.

This one.

It cost me a pretty penny and took a while to get used to, but now it's indispensable.

AngryGoldfish wrote:Damn, that Maton was killer looking. Hopefully you'll like the Fender even more.

Oh yeah, the Maton is sick but I had a chance to compare it to a Chessie last year, before ordering mine, and the Chessie won that contest flat out. Plus I got to customize everything about the EGC and the pickup switching should cover the Maton plus a whole bunch more.

Also scored that Maton for $1800 which was an incredible return customer deal. The Custom Shop VI is around 4K new (as fucking CRAZY as that sounds!) so I figured even if I eventually sell the Bass VI, I'll still come out ahead after this trade. Just too good to pass up.
