Haha I was going to suggest The Tatami Galaxy but from what you describe it's the exact antithesis of what you want (which makes me sad because it's probably my all time favorite anime).

Ergo Proxy is great, already seen it. Will check out Psycho Pass as well. And hey, just for the hell of it I'll give The Tatami Galaxy a go.

hahaha i was thinking the exact same thing. i think anyone who appreciates anime with some level of psychological depth would at least tolerate it though. it's incredibly well done.
as far as repetition goes, just avoid the second season of Haruhi Suzumiya. avoid it like the plague.

Tatami Galaxy is fantastic. It's repetitive in the way As I lay Dying is repetitive, so I don't think that counts.
Alternatively, you can watch The Eccentric Family. It's sort of by the Tatami Galaxy guy.

I've started watching The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. I wanted to watch it because I saw a youtube video of "God Knows" and thought it was going to be like K-On! or something. This show is very interesting.(ʃ⌣́,⌣́ƪ)

I would recommend you pretend the second season doesn't exist. or at least just the Endless Eight episodes.

Also the movie is fucking great. I liked the first season and thought they wouldn't top it but its probably even better.

it's a pretty good series, interesting mix of cuteness and bleak/dark humour. one of my favourite main characters out of anything.
