So can anyone tell me why the new Universal Audio interface is priced lower than the Apollo Twin Solo/Duo? Are they just phasing the latter out and setting a lower price point for their new stuff? Perhaps reduced build cost? Or have they compromised their product in some way?

I'm trying to get my Focusrite Clarett up and running finally now that I've got a computer that will actually support thunderbolt. But the computer port is thunderbolt 3 and Clarett is thunderbolt 2 so I need an adapter cable which is fucking ludicriously expensive for what it is, and might not even work.

Maybe it's not worth the hassle, but I'm wondering if I'm better off selling the Focusrite + cable and getting one of the new UA ones, being that it's thunderbolt 3, and being that the price is so reasonable. However, I'm just wondering: why the massive price drop between the last gen and new gen interfaces? It sets off alarm bells. I just don't want it to be for a bad reason, you know.

One that wasn't in a standalone box with fancy sliders? I think this is more on the monosynth, direct competition to the Mother 32 level. Lifeforms seems more like a collection of their modules put together versus this feeling like one complete system.

Also @DoS: everything is covered by Doepfer. Eurorack's version of "Simpsons did it."

Also, this looks dope:

"The PLASMA Pedal creates very heavy, yet transparent distortion with tons of unique character and lightning-fast dynamic response by transforming audio signal into a series of high-voltage plasma discharges inside of a special gas-filled tube. Yes - You are actually playing a bolt of electricity, and the beautiful open design allows you to observe the electrical discharges as you play."

If you can look past the shimmer banks and side jacks, the new Mad Professor has 11 ambient banks (8 non-shimmer settings).
