Is anyone making a drum/percussion box (with contact mic) that's "multi-function"? (More than one sound). Not like a "spring garden" but more drum-like, maybe with different surfaces?
Maybe I should be looking on Etsy...

It's for a friend of mine - they already have the Koma Field Kit and it's too complicated for them. Looking for a plug and play wooden box type of situation, maybe with different surfaces. I feel kinda guilty because I urged them to get the Field Kit.

Ah, well I guess that won't work and I don't really know anything else that might unfortunately.
All I can think of is the Roland SPD ONE series (which I honestly wouldn't mind a few of them myself):

Also, kind of the same idea and not really what you're looking for, but there's stuff like the Alesis Sample Pad

I think this case has vents in it so the glockenspiel can breathe even when the case is closed:

Looks like someone bought it.
I've been glocken and rollin' a lot lately.

Oh yes, I liked that indeed

Almost sounds like something that Clouddead would've used as a backing track for some twisted rapping over.

Glad you liked it. I like this one a lot too, and think it is amongst the best I've done, as sad as that may be

. But the thing I've noticed with my stuff is the ones I like the best are typically not what other people like the best. That is to say, I seem to get more positive feedback on ones I am not overly impressed with which shows how bad most people's taste in music is.

Ahhh it's the agony of the artist; nobody understands my work! Hmmm I guess it's similar for my son and I; except we don't get enough views / listens for me to work out what tracks people do like! We'll carry on making weird stuff the way we like it... in 20 years time all the neo-hipsters will be raving about us

I'm resigning myself to being an undiscovered genius!
On the popular front, my son wanted drums and cymbals in our latest track, so that's a different thing to work on... but going quite well... however I don't think it'll be popular in the way he thinks it will! I reckon his understanding of how to make pop music is just play weird stuff and add drums!

What kinda drums are you adding? Like a real drumset or software based stuff? Or something else?

I just picked up my Roland JV 1080. Cant wait to try the glockenspiel on that, I'm sure it has one. I'm at the vets office right now, cant wait to get home and try it. Stayed tuned or dont.

Sadly real drums are out of the question... we have some african djembes and a few tambourines but I've never managed to get a decent recording of those... need some decent microphones

We're using Ableton's drums, just played on the keyboard... not as cool as real drums, but better than nothing or bad drum sounds! They're mixed quite low at the moment, although we've gone for splashy cymbals because they sound rather fun, and now I want to buy some real ones.

When do you expect to have the new material released?
