Obviously we all have differing opinion on what is "dope" and "should win" but that's kind of the fun in all this.

Do I think UC's board should be in the category it is? I dunno, maybe, maybe not. I don't care that much either way. A board is a board, is a board is my boner. Right?

I do feel like it's a crap shoot to win or get even close each year. LOL. If I wanted to win BILF, I probably could. Just have to buy all the shit ILF adores and not the stuff I adore.

I also wouldn't feel right winning this year regardless as I'm one of the people giving away a prize. LOL. Plus I get enough free shit. Spread the love right??

Prizes are fun, but not required. Maybe next year we shouldn't do them so folks don't get as upset.

i think it's run pretty well for what it is. ***** rating for vidret as well,

a suggestion/thought though, for the finals there should have to be a sound submission. like force everyone to cover interpret the same song or a 30 second demo at least, you could change the song each year to make sure people arent just reusing stuff form other competitions if thats really that much of a concern. to make it no more work for the MC of BILF, make people upload it to bandcamp etc themselves and provide the link?

Just do a category of "demo" next year as well. In that, *what* you're using becomes less of an issue in terms of numbers IMO.

If somebody can successfully use 1002 effects in one thing...more power to 'em IMO.

Yeah so far I think prizes have been really fun, but if people do it only for the prizes (lots of low post ppl this year) then I dunno.

I don't want people coming here every year ctrl+c'ing their board from tgp/talkbass and winning the yearly ILF competition. Like, I don't mind if they're on those forums as well I guess, but ya'll get what I'm saying.



I can't believe how generous the builders have been each year, there's been easily 1500$ in the price pot these two years that I've held ILF. I don't know if we did prizes before that, so can't compare. Huge props to awesome people doing awesome stuff.

Why are you assuming that low post people are in it just for the prizes. I know quite a few low post people that participated this year just for the fun of it without any expectations to even make it in the finals.

Because it's a little odd for someone that's spent virtually no time posting on the forum to suddenly participate in an event that includes fancy prizes, especially if there's a sizable percentage (which is something Vid would know since he hosted).
