So my cousin was going to a recording studio to do a session today. He asked me to borrow my pedal board. My whole board. I freaked out for a minute, then I was like. Sure. Whatever. So now I have NO pedals to play with at all. One is with Eric!, two are on the way and my whole board is being borrowed! FUCK! I haven't played straight clean bass for so long! Ok, that's a lie, but I at least have options. lol Going crazy!

I was trying to work up some kind of clean bass/anal beads analogy but it just wasn't happening.
Playing clean is nice and effected is nice too. It might be an enjoyable break. Get to...know your bass more...or something. And when you get your board back, play with feedback for an hour straight because it's refreshing too.

Maybe you could experiment with new ways to effect your sound... do a "treated bass" thing by braiding paper or aluminum foil between the strings... clip paperclips so they rattle over the pickups... or maybe see if you've got anything non-pedal-based that could distort your signal - old 4-track or some kind of stereo amplifier you're not afraid of possibly gaffing up...

New pedalboard. Metal Zone replaced Oc-2 and Super CC/DC replaced LPB and DOD EQ, the Adler Space Museum mint tin holds picks. I'd like to get a EHX HUm DeBugger (noise gate) and then I'll be set for a while.

Mecha Shiva IS pretty damn awesome. It sounds kinda like what my old band would've sounded like if my guitarist could play any other style BESIDES post-rock/russian circles. And I had a ton more talent and effects.

Mecha Shiva are honestly the best thing I've heard on Soundcloud. When I throw some familiar stuff on my iPod, they are generally on my playlist. I genuinely love that stuff.

Got a new BBE Supa-Charger, so plugged all this stuff (except M5 and Hoax) into it. No noise whatsoever, and still two or three empty power slots for more stuff! Yay!
