Have You perhaps not noticed how much Bronzetalons pedals move through the B/S/T? :poke: :hello: Though I believe there's some ordered directly from Ryan in there, too.

So you use the Psilocybe and Grand Orbiter both for bass, I presume? It's hard to find clips of them on bass, how do they compare? I've been using either a BF-2, a brown BF-2B Bass Flanger or a Small Stone at the end of my chain for some wobble, and I am thinking about trying a Psilocybe, a Grand Orbiter or a Subdecay Quasar DLX in that spot.

Sweet pedlulz. Oh, and how do the Assmaster and the Black Cat compare?

Bassboar wrote:YOWZA!!!!!! Haven't seen you too much around here nad, what an epic return. How does the B:Assmaster into the Behemoth sound?

It's a pretty jumbo/LARGE combination. It makes the B:Assmaster sound thick and huge, takes away the bite but makes it pretty massive. My favourite fuzz for 4+ years and counting is the Assmaster, but the Behemoth is pretty god damn hard to turn off during jams. It just makes things sound big, and is soooooooooo interactive with your dynamics and bass settings that it makes me want to never wear pants again.

 Yeah I sorta gave up internetz a good bit this year. That means I'm writing more songs and reading more books, hooray! Still need to pop in every once in awhile though. :animal:

Sweet pedlulz. Oh, and how do the Assmaster and the Black Cat compare?

Both Psilo and Orbiter on bass, yes. The Orbiter is more quacky sounding, and the Psilocybe is thiiiiiiiiick, almost too much at times. They both work fantastic on bass, and cut through a mix extremely well. They also take fuzz greatly, which is one of my problems with Small Stones (although I love them too). I prefer the Orbiter between the two, as it just sounds better in a band mix to my ears, and the Psilo can get a little out of hand sometimes (not always a bad thing of course). I had a Baby Quasar at one point but it was too subtle for me, although I'd like to try one again someday, or the DLX. Oh, and the BF-2 is one of the Best. Pedals. EVAR. I spent a shitload of money on fancy flangers trying to find something as good as Ye Olde Analogue Purple Mister, and never quite did.

Assmaster v. Black Cat:
The fuzz character is a little different, with the Black Cat being grainier/gravelly/whatever sounding, and the Master-o-Ass (silicon at least) is a ridiculously high gain, raspy, ring-moddy asshole. The switches can create volume issues on the Black Cat, which isn't a problem for the Assmaster. I always have both set for the mid-heavy / regular-octave positions. The clean blends is where things really get different, as the Malekko is more of a HPF / treble boost type of thing, which is why I think it cuts through a mix so god damn well. The Black Cat has an actual clean blend, it's your regular signal passing through. So if utter low end retention is your thing, the Black Cat works better. The Malekko cuts through with more violence, which is my usual preference.

For what it's worth, they are both outstanding. My #1 and #2 fuzz pedals, absolutely. #3 would be the Katanasound Super Bass Fuzz. I'm still searching for a true contender for #4...

:joy:

Probably, but that's normal for me. I've bought and sold a lot of effects over the last 5 years. ;) I've never actually owned this many pedals at the same time, I think I'm up to about 30 right now. Usually when I get higher than 10 I start unloading stuff, but this year I decided to start hoarding pedals, unless I'm in desperate need of cash. The only pedal I regret ditching is my first BJFE Blue Berry, and they seem to be even more difficult to find now that the mass produced version is floating about. Alas!

I can just about guarantee I'll never do the I'm Done With Effects, This Is All For Sale Now crap. I haven't plugged straight into an amp for 15 years, I don't see that ever changing. :)*
