The new..The Big Al SSS. Totally mint, played for probably 20 minutes before I got it. All the case candy and everything unopened. This bass has so many awesome usable tones...

Thanks Homie!
The neck is similar to a Jazz Neck, which scared me at first (I tend to play chunky necks). It really does play fast and smooth though.

I dig achtane's wagoneer beast bass.
All that garnish had got to add some weight. Of course you probably routed a significant amount of weight off the bass.

Re: Let's see your BASS!
Thanks doods! Yeah, it weighs a little over 10 pounds now, not as bad as it looks. I had to add another layer of seatbelt to the strap to keep it from routing my shoulder though. Wagoneer seatbelt is no problem to sew, Volvo is annoying as hell and it never goes easily, just like working on one.
That Big Al is sssssweet. Took me a little while to get used to the looks, but they seem so versatile.

My BTB has a pretty thin neck and I like it a lot. I really should play it more. Now I'm kinda gassn' for a new bass.

That's about all it has going for it
It's certainly the ugly duckling in the looks department. I keeed, I keeed. I'm been trying for a while to get past the aesthetics.
It serves up some wicked tonez fer sherr - very tweakable. Enjoy it!!

Damn. I haven't been through this thread in a LONG time. Got some reading to do. Here's my current rig. Don't feel too jealous.....I only get to keep it for another month or so before incoming kids make me downgrade.

Big Al's are weird. i kinda dig SmallEquestrian's, but i like white basses and i'm a sucker for orange shizz. the shape isn't the most appealing to me. but i don't dig Bongo's either. i'm boring. normal shapes make me happy.

I had mah doubts (about fEarfuls) but this rig is pretty epic. Only thing I would have done differently is grill cloth instead of metal grills on the cabs.
I'm kinda OCD about that,....Metal grills just don't seem appropriate for tube amps but are perfectly fine for solid state (only half serious here,...do what you want how you want and I'm non judgmental). Kinda like,...if you going tube,...then you are going with a more vintage vibe (not so much sound but vibe) and Metal Grill clothes are more of a modern juxtaposition.
There is just something classy about grill clothe. I'll be hooking up with a 2nd Avatar cab and when I do I'm going to my existing one retrofitted with grill clothe (just wasn't offered when I bought my cab). Metal grills are just too; metal.
Why downsizing? Is it loud enough with one cab?
