Thanks for the info. I try to bother him as little as possible since I've had an order with him for over three years now though to be fair, it was a nearly impossible guitar to make and after he recently waved the white flag, we modified the specs to something much more able to be built. So I guess in a way, I've only been waiting for a couple months.
But still, I try not to bother him since less correspondence means more time to build! So if you get any more information, I would be very interested. Thanks!

I saw one of those in person, and I couldn't take my eyes off of it. It's doesn't photograph well, but in person it was eye catching

Reeeeaaaalllly not into those.
Those prices are way too fucking high for me to even act like I'd ever consider one, even if I had the money.
Also, why go as far as making an aluminum neck only to stick a
regular (nevermind, it's carbon fiber, but still) fretboard on it? Doesn't that defeat the purpose?
Edit: I realize this sounds like I'm hardcore shitting on it, but it's just something that's not my cup o' tea, is all.

Finally, Howard Davis, the former EHX engineer is supposed to have his mini DMM from Xvive at NAMM. This was talked about months ago, but I haven't seen it available for purchase yet.

Reviving this from several pages ago...anyone know any more on this post-NAMM? Haven't seen anything, but if it's really a DMM in that size package color me intrigued.

Sucks to hear about your long wait. My bassist has two basses on order, going on 4 years, though he is supposed to be in the home stretch now, so anyday hopefully. I ordered a bolt on neck, started a thread about my build in the Guitar and Bass subforum here. The necks are made to have a flat heel for Tele style guitars or a round heel for Strat style, specify on order. These necks might be medium profile, so in between their regular thin and Denison-thick profiles. This batch of 17 have all been claimed, but I would almost expect more soon due to high demand. Bastin really whet everyone's appetite before disappearing. Though he just popped up this weekend and mentioned maybe doing another run soon. Who knows though. Look for the Aluminum Axes FB group, seems to be the best gathering place for us cold neck types.

I noticed that Obstructures is wrapping up their first batch.
Someone said they cost ~$2000 or so. One day I will have an aluminum necked guitar.
One day.

So a few of us now with 3 or more year wait on our orders. I feel bad for Kevin, I really do. I love my EGC, such a pleasure to play. Truly. Must be difficult to keep up with that excellence with eccentric orders.
Or at least mine was.

You feel bad for the guy that takes peoples' money and then doesn't deliver for years? The guy who will push back endless customer orders to build for artists. I feel bad for the customers that have to wait all that time to eventually get a guitar years down the road.
