Agreed. hard to beat a nice vintage finish. The checking on yours is sooooo good. I have an Arctic White Jazzy with checking but it's not as awesomely visible as yours.
Speaking of new guitars, I finally found a Jeff Tweedy locally for a reasonable price and snagged that mofo. The guy had already swapped the pickups with Wolfetones, a Dr. Vintage in the neck and Marshallhead in the bridge and man this guitar screams, loving it. The satin unfinished neck is the greatest. And the Blue Mist finish is gorgeous in person, definitely different than Pelham, darker and more subtle when compared side by side.

Nice! The peavey is probably heavier than the Kramer and I think I've become accustomed to the weight. Unfortunately when I'm not holding one of my guitars, I tend to walk around looking like the Hunchback of Notre Dame ):
