Jesus. As much as I love my Goatkeeper I must admit I'm somewhat tempted to throw it on Reverb with a silly price tag too.

The killer feature of the GK is the CV out... it's an okay tremolo, but that CV into other pedals (I'm looking at you, PS-3!) really makes it.
But for twelve hundo? I can put together a sick little Euro case that will do the same and more...

The crazy thing about the GK3 sale for $1200 is that a V1 one sold on eBay for $300 on Sunday night. There have also been opportunities in the past 6 months to buy final run Goatkeepers on Reverb for $450 or less. Anyone who shops in that $800-1200 range isn't just juggling more income than they can manage, they're almost always terrible researchers. Patience is not a quality you're going to find in someone dropping $1200 on a pedal that was only discontinued about a year ago.

Another thing that kills me is the seller who list pedals for semi-reasonable prices and then relists them for double the money. They fabricate non-existent hype and desire just to reel in some clueless boob. But then a new benchmark is set that hurts other potential buyers.
This was a $398 auction. Instead of relisting it for $350-$375, he decides to double his asking price.

I would estimate a discontinued item like that, which was produced in limited quantities to sell in the $325-450 range. That's not unreasonable based on its original street price and the scarcity of the item, but now this heel has it for $800 and it will sell to some clueless goof. Then the next seller will scroll through eBay's recent sales and he'll list his for $900----and I'll never add one of these to my collection for $320-$350, because I'm not shelling out $900 for a tube phaser (when I can get 3-4 premium phasers for that same price).
This isn't anything anyone doesn't know already, it just pisses me off that because one person gets scammed, then everyone else gets screwed as well.

wasn't that GK up for offers? I don't think it updates the price if you settle. pretty damn silly regardless, considering new GKs are supposed to drop this year

Usually if an offer is accepted it's listed on the item's page (w/ the original price struck thru) & the SOLD sign, but maybe reverb stopped doing that? We can only hope, but never underestimate the desires of a) overextended collectors w/ a rotisserie of credit cards or b) rich people w/ expensive taste and/or their kids.

its always been my contention that people suck, and turns out reverb is full of all sorts of asshole...but in my eye it takes an extra special sort of cunt to just outright hustle musicians like that....now, that said, lets keep the lid on about these upcoming GK as I plan on buying them all and then marking them up 400% to sell on reverb to make sure they are kept out of the hands of musicians that might actually want them and only available to wealthy people who, lets face it are the one's that actually deserve them tbqh.

I ain't no one to judge how people spend their dinero. They wanna spend 1200 bucks on a tremolo pedal...well go right ahead. I don't have too many tears to shed for someone who was gonna drop 400 bucks on a box that makes volume go OOOooooOOOOooooOOOOOoooo, might now have to wait a little while longer spend 600 bucks for some OOOOoooOOOOooooOOOOooooOOOOOooo.
