This was my 2019 goal:

So...
James: By the way, the same procedure as last year, Miss Sophie?
Miss Sophie (delightedly): The same procedure as every year, James!
James: (takes a deep breath, then, with a sly grin) Well, I'll do my very best!

Thanks Sharky! 50lbs is overly ambitious and you might be right about it being too much for my frame. I just want to lose the gut really, which it would really help if I drank less beer and ate healthier. Cutting processed sugars is a good idea. I've been getting better at bringing healthy lunches to work, just need to start bringing a healthier breakfast option.
Also, I would have been alright with a much smaller wedding, but my fiancee wants the whole big thing. I'm still incredibly excited, just going to cost a hair more than $300

Also, this doesn't mean getting a new house is completely out of the picture next year, just more likely a 2021 goal. We are actually very happy with our current house; I just want a garage and we keep running into situations where we would do a small reno, but likely wouldn't add any value to the house when we sell it.

i have thought about stopping being such a mic snob and actually get a pair of 57s

Let's trade!
But for real I might actually be ordering an Aston Stealth today/tomorrow so I will have to come up with new consumerist ambitions.
Woops I bought it. 2020 hasn't even started and I'm already doing it wrong

This year I plan to slow way down with buying pedals ( I tell myself this every year) and to stop being so lazy when it comes to actually making music. Its been 3 or 4 years since I have actually released any music and its because I tend to just fuck around way to much and not do anything productive. Selling off a few cabs has been a big area of focus at the beginning of the year/now because its really pointless to have 3 amps and only ever use one of them. Plus I could use the extra room to stretch my legs in the jam room haha. Also I plan to make it a point to learn the octatrack inside and out. I have a good feel for it now but often times I play with it and end up forgetting what does what and find myself reading the manual or watching videos on youtube.

I was in the same boat about a decade ago - however we were both being pressured to “invite more people” etc. As long as you’re both happy with it as opposed to caving to family interference you should be fine. I think we both wish we had told certain family members (who didn’t actually pay for anything) where to stuff it. But we were the first of our friends/siblings to get married and didn’t really think “small” was feasible. And our wedding was SMALL, we had like 60 people and that felt overcrowded.

I feel like if you live in the GTA any house is going to hold value with or without the reno - most people are just gutting completely anyway so anything like a kitchen is not going to add anything. We’ve done all wiring, new panel, water heater, new plumbing, new kitchen, stripped all wallpaper off every surface (even the ceilings!!!!), new bathroom, new windows, new back deck, new shed..... it’s been great for us because we bought a real haunted shithole (aka “fixer upper”) but we’ll likely never be able to move. Good thing I love my haunted creepy noise basement!

Keep an eye out! It really is a fun box, I just have a little trouble remembering some of the detailed stuff that isn't done on a regular basis.

Peace, love, follow your heart. Sorry I said stupid.

To that end I will need to buy some stands (snare, hi-hat) though, as well as cymbals. At least a pair of hats and a good ride.
Always meaning to buy more mics and a better pre/comp/interface too.
Basically I want to be able to record drums and bass to tape, export to PC, process and then back to tape for guitar/vocals. Something like that. Pivoting towards a future of more home recording and less jamming with people, as that has proven unproductive.
Guess those are sort of goals.
Actually, those are super reasonable and doable. Workflow is a very real thing. When we get married you can have whatever room you want for this.
Are you worried about acoustic treatment and/or neighbors? Regardless, post picks when you have it set up, please. I’d love to see what you come up with. What are you using for a DAW now?

So much hype to be judged for our poor future plans.

Looks like this took care of itself. Friendship gets the superlative for fastest execution of a goal.
@qertsy - When you were a mic snob? What were you into? For the amount of pedals I have, I think most would be surprised how little pieces of recording equipment I have. I own a grand total of 3 mics. Technically a few more but they’re more for effects than recording,

Look, I have more time on my hands than you
Eyeing your echoplex btw...
Also, speaking of people with no time.... no one called out Invisible Man commenting in this thread? And him wanting something? Fuarkkkkkkk

Is your avatar a Basquiat painting? I feel like I asked you before. I rewatch that bio-pic every Christmas. One of my top 20 favorite films.

Gila has an HX. He intrigued us in the ring mod thread.
What could you possibly have left to sell. Last I checked you had three pedals and a bag of Doritos?
What’s going on with the visualization? Intrigued!
