You're crazy and we love you for it. I'm quitting my band because I can't do that and be involved enough with my kids, and I only have two. The sadness reminded me of this and my need to learn how to record.

I'm totally interested in this. My musical output is nil lately, but I have a couple demo songs I recorded a few years ago that I had been trying to get someone to record real drums on for a long time. I even still have the songs in my Google Drive, one version with a click intro and programmed drums, one with just a click.

For sure. Haven't played in a band since kids. I miss it, too, but it's an easy choice (one of those things has a future).

But yeah: I've said it elsewhere in this thread...you can be up and running for around $100 with a basic recording rig. Assuming you have a computer. If you want to record direct, probably less.

If you have stuff laying around, Corey Y, send it and I'll try and rip some stuff quick. Olin is first in line, and there are some baller tracks that I have struggled to get to (besides the stuff I talked about) because they're long, and ten minutes takes are trickier. Shit is lit:

The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents.

Shoot me your email in a PM and I'll send you a link to the tracks. No pressure, if it's something you're willing to do that's awesome. I also haven't played in a real band since I had kids. Not by choice though, it just worked out that way. The songs in question are 2 out of 5 or 6 I wrote while my wife was pregnant with our oldest, as I was desperately trying to get something together and get momentum going before the kiddo arrived. Didn't work out.

Not sure how I missed this. What a generous offer. I'll add myself to the imaginary list of shitposting people with big dreams. 2019 - expect a track.

I really do hope you at least enjoy the music while you're working on it, should make it easier. I'm still finalising the structure of a 15-17 minute one and am now nervous to send it over lol.
