My Chuck Collins doesn't oscillate. Working on getting some of the blocking distortion out of this prototype. I would like to try to get it to oscillate but not sure if it's entirely possible. Albini's is weird. Although if I can get this to oscillate I will be happy.

Nomnomnom. The Harmonic Percskullator sounds very cool indeed.

I've been using an Urso Splinter for a while too but haven't ever played an actual percolator or clone to compare. Sadly, the builder did pass away a couple years ago (forget where I read that) and the site is long gone, reabsorbed by the web. In any case, it's a killer pedal with a wide range of gain and tonal adjustment. Got it on ebay for just about $100 although you don't see them pop up too often.
I've always wondered if there were any others out there or if someone could compare it to a harmonic percolator. I half considered seeing if Joe Gore would be interested in checking it out. He has a new harmonic percolator style pedal coming out soon that I'm sure will sound great.

Hi/low gain modes, New/Old (bright/tight vs round/squishy). rotary w/ stock + 3-mode bass boost (which gets it more into thicc & sludgy territory) and an internal trim for overall gain. I think I read (on old HC or somewhere) the guy that built them may or may not be dead, though, so, um, I guess that's no real help whatsoever, aside from just keeping an eye out for a used one. They usually go for under $100 when they pop up.

This thread is the reason Urso was added to my Reverb feed. The Splinter sounds like a perfect fourth HP variant to add to the current collection.

One sold on ebay for like $42 a couple weeks ago. Wish I'd spotted it in time.

Wow. Someone got a killer deal on a killer pedal. I'd say it's worth way more than that, but of course I'm biased. I'm counting on reselling mine for my retirement. HA! Who am I kidding. I'm going to work until the day I keel over. At least I love my job.

I've noticed a few more builders posting bare bones Harmonic Percolator clones on Reverb. Newer options include Kraucyk Effect Pedals, Customeffects, and Super Electric. I'm only familiar with Super Electric, which is the most expensive of the three. Does anyone have experience with the other builders?

Probably sacrilege, but I've been using my Even Anguish as low gain dirt (crunchy amp sound) in addition to a wall of distortion.
The controls don't really let you dial out the distortion (knob on right is more of a starve than a gain knob?) so I typically turn the volume knob way down and lift the diodes (no diode clipping) which brings the volume back up. Easily blows the Marshall-y dirt pedals I have (Hot Cake, OCD clone) out of the water in terms of nice crunch. Thought I'd share.

just got a Baddy One Shoe Hot Cup-o-Fuzz for almost nothing, Not nearly as fuzzy as I was thinking it would be and doesn't seem to play well with other dirt boxes but so far I'm digging it a lot. Now that I got a Percolator now I need a Harmonic Energizer.
