I'm not sure that's the right way to interpret Goroth's post, though I do agree we're getting cyclical here -- that's to be expected, maybe, when you're asking for experiences with the pedals that no one got because the dude sucks at communicating (as illustrated ad nauseum) to be divorced from the fact that the dude sucks at communicating (as illustrated ad nauseum)... because a lot more people had an impossible fucking time trying to get the pedals from him on the first go around.

All that is to say, if you don't get the pedals in the first place, it's hard to comment on their quality.

Sorry if I'm being a dick - I wouldn't say hating, I just honestly don't get it.
Customer service sucks: I'll buy second hand
Designs are pilfered, buy Laowiz or get Johnny to etch some stuff: yeah but they do look good dudes
Instagram clips aren't great: buy alternative x y and z which all kick ass from experience.
You've gotten pretty valid feedback on a variety of points yet seem set on buying.
Ok, :idk: go for it!!

You seem a rad dude, and I honestly mean if you want them, go buy them! Go nuts. Cover the whole of dopethrone through these pedals and upload it 1080p. Buy an algal bloom custom from Tom and post 9000 posts. All legitimately good things to do.

I'm just not sure what you wanted to glean from this thread. Thus my post. But seriously, rock on dude :thumb:

I still think it's the same as buying direct to buy second hand. You are supporting the builder by having their brand regardless of if you give them money. You said something along the lines of "hope I"m not opening a can or worms" right? Well we all responded honestly and most advised against it with experience or things they've seen from said builder. So that's why I think you're saying "meh fuck it". You ask for advice but don't listen to it, so what exactly is the point of asking it? You had your mind made up obviously when you made this thread. So I think you would have been better served to open a "want to buy" thread in the classifieds, because that's what it ended up being for you if someone sent you a PM with some offers.

I'm a bit more abrasive than some of my ILF bros, and I don't apologize for that because it annoys me to no end when we see people time after time supporting shitty builders who fuck others over. There have been so many on this board, it's impossible to name, yet time after time someone will inevitably buy or try to sell it here, which makes me laugh my ass off. I think you ought to buy Devi Ever too while you're at it. :) Just to cover all the bases.

If you can show me where these designs are stolen/copied from, I'll *genuinely* be interested in buying from those companies (unless you mean the circuits rather than the graphics?).

I guess at the same time you did say upfront you don't care about the drama. I don't get that though. It's other people trying to protect you from getting screwed over.

I get that Jwar, but I have to respectfully disagree. It's just not in my nature to be so rigidly principled that I wouldn't buy second hand. You might think that's weak, but that's fine. I did listen, and it was all taken on board, particularly the advice about avoiding direct sales. I really am grateful. What I mean is that I don't care about the drama in relation to whether or not they're worth trying. I just wanted to hear objectively about the pedals, but I can't thank enough for people warning me to avoid getting screwed over, and that's all been heeded. If the pedals suck, I'd tell anyone to stay away in a heartbeat. Or better yet make a demo and they can decide for themselves.

It's all good though Goroth man. You and Jwar are right - I did want a proper discussion, but on further reflection - ultimately my own agenda is that I wanted validation for potentially buying one, and so naturally I clung to any positive comments that cropped up. I can see how this can be interpreted as being a bit of a fuck you to people sharing their opinions. Not my intention. Defo 100% not my intention to piss anyone off or start shit or anything, far from it. Sorry y'all :(

I really dig his demos/instagram clips though! But you've gotta take them with a pinch of salt, and I'm salty that there aren't any more demos out there from people who don't have the agenda of trying to sell his pedals...

D.o.S makes a good point. I should have expected that much. It's hard to be objective about shit like this when there's been so much fuckery. Dude seems like a top notch douche nugget, for real. But I like his style, so I don't want to forever shit on him, especially without having first hand experience, so I sincerely hope he can remedy this and actually adopt some professional business practices.

And hey... ironically I reignited some drama. But on the flip-side now I've got the chance to decide for myself whether they're worthwhile...

His Omen looks a kinda like a Buzzaround I did. Didn't really bother me except that his graphics came out better!

This one I thought was maybe a little too close to a Dizzytone I did:

Nic has always sent me nice messages and generally seemed like a cool dude. The above probably could have been a little less obvious but only think he made a few so no biggie. Forget what the Science Amp thing was. The dude is def good at graphics so just a little strange....

But, you know, far be it from me to suggest that people actually read the thread.

Srry that's a little savage.

Anyway, no shit was stirred and no piss was offed. Far from it -- it's a 'fun' discussion.

Ah, see, I thought you were suggesting that all the designs were "pilfered," not just the Omen and that one custom pedal.
