I drink chamomile every night. My wife has a patch of chamomile that she grows and dries herself, but I mostly drink Celestial Seasonings Sleepytime Peach, as an iced tea.

Black tea turns me into a real asshole for some reason. I can drink caffeine in many other forms: coffee, Red Bull, No-Doz, whatever. Give me even a black iced-tea and I'm chewing people's heads off for the smallest transgressions.
This is a very impressive collection of Roto Toms. That's 21 Roto Toms in all. That is only $33.00 a Roto Tom.

I don't buy it that often because I'm broke though. :idk:
Big difference between "caffeine-free" and decaffeinated.
Most herbal teas are caffeine-free. White tea has naturally low caffeine. IIRC the general rule is green tea has about half that of black tea, which has about half that of coffee. I think it's like ~10mg for white, ~30mg per cup of green, ~65mg black & ~125mg for coffee. Brewing 1 cup with a tea bag or single serving of coffee (1.5g grounds per 8oz water)

It's the decaffeinated green & black teas which are all horrific afaic.

If someone wanted to try "tea" for the first time, what should they ask for, and whom should they ask?

I don't like hot beverages but I drink cold tea or iced tea a lot. It is my source of caffeine. I can't be too picky about the brand since the most important thing is that it's gluten free. You would be surprised at how many aren't.

The thing I like to do with iced tea, is put some Scrappy's cardamom bitters, or lavender bitters in the glass first.

Oh yeah, the other thing I like in a cup of tea is 1 or 2 grains of salt. The smallest amount possible. Yeah, I'm weird. It takes the bitterness off.

Mighty Leaf makes great stuff. The nice thing about those fancy bags they use is that since the tea's so much more visible, they can't just throw any old schwag in there (which is the case for a lot of bag tea).

1080: try some genmai cha. It's green tea with toasted brown rice in it, has this great roasty taste that's not too overpowering. I feel like that's a great gateway tea that's a fist step out of the zone of what people think when they hear "hot tea."

Genmaicha is a favorite. I have been drinking tea since childhood, and wound up liking a lot of different ones. I will fuck with herbal teas for medicinal purposes super hard. Black tea can be intense, but i love Lapsang Souchong, Russian Caravan, Assam, or Ceylon if i'm going to do a black tea. I like basically any green or white tea i've ever tried, so long as they're brewed correctly.

Peppermint and Chamomile and Genmaicha are the ones i keep coming back to.
