Next U.S. Presidential election, I'm gonna run on an isolationist ticket. :snax:

Yeah, I'm not overly political either. I just think helping a country in need (like the US did for my country) is different from invading a country, like the US have been guilty of for decades now. I'll just leave it at that. :hello:
My point exactly. In international public law, the difference between these two situation lies in the principle of sovereignty. When a country helps an ally that asked for said help, sovereignty is respected. When a country invades and occupies another, however generous and poetic the motivation, sovereignty is breached.

And in 99.9% of the second situation, everything turns to shit, while in the first situation, things usually work not so badly (for example, France's latest intervention in Mali at the request of the Malian president was a success, France's latest intervention in Lybia in breach of a UN resolution that authorized a panafrican force of interposition to be deployed and nothing more contributed to the situation getting worse and actually probably created the situation in Mali).

We've all helped each other. Let's just leave it at that.

What happened in Brussels was just horrible. I wish the world would stop trying to destroy itself. :(

Part of you is a moron.
Yes, I know, and I'm aware of it. Not that I'm perfect in a sense of total self-awareness. A lot of people aren't aware of that - throughout the political spectrum.

Is sad and funny that Europe will fall and people are too afraid to see why that will happen. The US has made plenty of mistakes, and it's easy (and often justified) to mock because of many of it's "Merica" fails, but when people aren't willing to look soberly at what is coming, the end result won't be good.

But we are all in this together. Small world.
