I rewatch the old ones on Netflix all the time. It's my go to show.

Been watching that again too! As a whole, I still prefer X-Files, but episode-to-episode, Millennium was consistently better.
I feel like X-Files and Millennium should have just been one show. They were way too similar: Savant-like profiler investigates fringe cases involving the conspiracy of a shadow-organization preparing for apocalypse. The X-Files mytharc about the bounty hunters / rebels / purity control / super soldiers / whatevertheffuck is so convoluted, especially when you only get small hints spread out over 9 years. If they were going keep the mytharc so covert, it shouldn't have been so complex that it's near impossible to follow. They should have dialed that back, and put Frank Black and the Millennium conspiracy in the show, then when Mulder left, Frank could have taken the reigns instead of Dogget and Reyes.
The virus pandemic in Millennium could have just as easily been the black oil pandemic in X-Files. The 2012 apocalypse could have been the 2001 apocalypse, and that would have set them up for a better ending. The Millennium Group could have been a splinter of the Syndicate. Scully's ongoing crisis of faith could have been compounded by the religious overtones of the endtimes prophecy.

Is Millennium streaming anywhere? I haven't watched that since it came out.

My other idea is that they should do a show about the Syndicate that's basically an expansion of Musings of a Cigarette Smoking Man. Show starts in Roswell '47 with the formation of the Syndicate, then it follows young CGB Spender and Bill Mulder as they plot out and execute the biggest conspiracies in US history, and eventually culminates with Project Purity Control, and the abduction of Samantha Mulder.

I would watch that show for sure.

Duchovny forgot that he wasn't supposed to play Hank Moody anymore.

Haha!
I'm pretty sure that he co-wrote that scene.
Somebody was at least reading some of Bill Hicks' old journal entries about cruising around Texas on Shrooms.
Either way it was brilliant.

I feel like that ending pretty much means they are making more. Otherwise that would be the one of the shittiest series endings in history.

Yea, it feels like they were finally settling back into it...and now its over. Hope they make more though. I just finished watching the entire series on Netflix and just went right into the new season. Bit of a shock as they are older but I think they still got it.
