Just one last bitch about the original movies. Obi-Wan is supposed to have gone into hiding so he just changes his first name to Ben and moves where anyone can just fall out of the sky and find him. What's up with that?

All I'm saying is that this movie had to do a lot. It had to set up a new trilogy (maybe more than a trilogy), introduce you to all these characters, set up multiple future storylines, and try to recapture the magic that was lost with the prequels and I have to say, I think it accomplished at least 80% of what it set out to do. Nostalgia be damned

It's as if they went down a checklist of scenes from ANH and Empire and a checklist of themes from KotOR I. They nailed them all perfectly, it's a good setup for a remake of the original trilogy.

it was pretty fucking rad
I don't go to the theater much and it was worth the trip
there were a few scenes that I had issues with
but not like the prequels

My mom said (re: George's pissiness lately), "If that was your baby, do you think it would be easy to let it go?" And of course, no, I do not. He obviously didn't care about the $4 billion that much, as he gave most of it away. I think it hurts to have something so planned and see them go a different way with it.

This having been said: no sympathy. He's George Lucas. If he wanted to sit on his stories until the end of time, then take them with him when he died, ala Salinger, he could have. If he woke up one day and said, "I want to make the next three Star Wars movies tomorrow," he could have, with the largest budget any film had ever seen. But he didn't do that, he sold it. That was his choice. And you know what? The movie Disney put out is better than the last three in the series.

I've been a Star Wars nut since I was a baby so I enjoyed it but the script-writers were lazy. The Star Wars universe is vast so there were so many ways one could have taken the story. But now that we've got the "intros" out of the way I hope Disney can push through some memorable movies. I'm definitely going to see the next two. And I believe there is going to be a small fan-made movie later this year called "Rogue One". Hopefully, that one is good.

Oh its not small or fan made. That shit had Disney money behind it too.
