The idea behind Bulletproof coffee doesn't even work unless you know how to diet with macro nutrients. Meaning, your fats, proteins and carbs have to be right or it doesn't make sense. You'll just be consuming too much of a good thing, which is a bad thing.
So the reason the fat works is because it's an energy source, that's probably why your mental clarity kicks in. MCT in itself is very good, but you can take an MCT oil supplement or straight coconut oil.
Here's the sources for MCT oils
Coconut oil: 15%
Palm kernel oil: 7.9%
Cheese (if you tolerate dairy): 7.3%
Butter: 6.8%
Milk: 6.9%
Yogurt: 6.6%
Note the percentages. MCT oil has been studied to combat alzheimer's, but most of the sources come from coconut oil in those cases. Now on the other hand beta hydroxybutyrate is even used at the Mayo Clinic for alzheimer's treatments. Beta hydroxybutyrate is a mostly salt compound that acts similar to a ketone body and provides energy as a pure source as opposed to a carbohydrate.
So. My point in the whole Bullet Proof thing is that it's totally hype. It's more than likely a placebo effect or you're able to think more "clearly" now because you were in a nutritional deficit before. Also, you're getting bacteria's that you may have been lacking if you're not eating correctly or taking any probiotics or similar gut healing supplements.
I'm not an expert in nutrition, not by far, but I do have a lot of experience in diet/exercise. I studied this shit like crazy because it bothers me and I want to know what it all means.
Furthermore though, why fuck up something like coffee? I mean, you take something that has positive benefits when used right and turn it into disgusting goop. I can't imagine why people put that crap in their bodies that way. Coffee taste good. Putting butter in it is just gross.

Yo what kinda coffee is everybody drinking? I used to get some super cork-sniffer shit from this shop that roasted their own next door to my old place of business. You try smelling that every day and not taking a bag home. These days I'm on the cafe bustelo. its cheap, pretty tasty and easy to find.

I'm usually more into light roasts but this is my jam right now.

I definitely get the appeal of black coffee, but this "it's the only way!" attitude is weak.
It's like saying "anything other than a Strat into a Bassman is for dildo wankers."
I have a sweet-tooth. Sorority sister frappuchinos really get me going. Right now I'm all about cheap coffee and a dash of Peppermint Mocha cream. Say what you will, but that shit is sooo dank. I wanna switch to black before my metabolism leaves me hanging, but I just have such a sweet tooth!

Lol at people not from Louisiana thinking that the water they try to pass as coffee is relevant.
But man. We do like it dark and thick round these parts. My crazy ass has been adding a tsp of finely ground matcha into my coffee.....COFFEE MATCHA!!!!
I have too many kids for just coffee alone to solve.

Good memories of cafe bustelo, though.
