Sometimes buffers get unhappy with that type of stuff and levels get all out of whack...
I'm planning to try this soon using an A/B/Y up front to duplicate the signal, run two parallel signals through different effects, then both out to a mini passive mixer. Right now I'm running parallel patch paths through the Patchulator(s) but that's because I'm sharing about 8 effects between six instruments (3 synths, organ, drum machine, and electric banjo). The only wiring that ever changes are the mini patch cables, which is the whole point.
Next plan is to put the new Dittox4 looper on the extra two patch points (L and R separately), effectively allowing me to patch any of those instruments at any point in their signal chains into the looper, giving me two synced loops of anything I want. Putting the looper early in the chain will also allow me to tweak out my effects and adjust tone without having to grow a third arm.

Super off topic, but does anyone know where I can get more of those little rubber feet things that comes with it?
Now that I've transitioned to a pretty much purely tabletop set up, those things have become really useful

They are 3M SJ-5012. You can get them from Mouser or other electronic parts suppliers. They have super sticky adhesive and a super sticky grip.

Thanks!
Back on topic, I've found that I've been mostly using the Patchulator to move around my looper. Really nice to be able to record something, then move the looper somewhere else in the chain to capture different sounds. I've got a Kaleidoloop incoming, so that's going to make for some really interesting recording/looping opportunities

Ah, that kind of makes me want to get one... I don't have enough desk space though

Got a Moog Cluster Flux (frickin' amazing) and decided to build a patching board with that and the Space Echo as the key elements. The sounds were so awesome, that we used it to make a promo video for the Patchulator. All sounds made with this setup. It was fun a hell. Enjoy!

I don't know how packed it is on the inside of the pedal, but would it theoretically be possible to make one of these that had the jacks recessed into the body, so you didn't lose all the space around it? (or perhaps mount the jacks on top?)

Ok, well even though it is really tight in there (I mean there are 32 jacks in this thing!) it would be possible to top-mount the 1/4" jacks. However, it would be a cabling mess on the top (you'd have to use right-angle cables anyway) considering the wires themselves have to go somewhere. Additionally though, and probably more importantly, actually re-patching the mini cables would be a bitch since it would be so hard to get your hands in there. Recessed jacks on the sides are not really possible, although you could put washers on the inside between the 1/4" jacks and the enclosure, but that would only save you a few millimeters.
I think if you get a Patchulator in your hand, you'll be surprised by how small it actually is, and how tightly it can be wired up with some finesse.

Hey all! Not trying to spam of course, but since we don't have the newest patching video done yet to share in this thread.... We got some cool t-shirts and are giving them away with Patchulator purchases through the weekend! We've also received some pretty interesting photo submissions from users featuring some nice boards and effects. ->

Which reminds me... I've seen some users using pancake plugs and was wondering are there several types? Seems that some can fit and others can't?

Hey y'all, I just wanted to share some things with other Patchulator users. I've had mine for about 2 months now, and I'm pretty enamored with how well it's integrated into my board. The initial setup required some serious thought, but I've used the same configuration for the past 2 months (with a few minor changes).
First off, if you're getting one of these, let me suggest a huge upgrade: colored patch cables (
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00F67S31A). Since you're most likely already going to have to buy more patch cables to use this thing, you should get pairs of color-coded patches. I bought 5 pairs off Amazon (I'll admit I was skeptical at first due to a few bad reviews) and they've worked great. They're also way cheaper than most patch cables, so it's a win-win. These color-coded cables make it really easy to see what pedals are in what loop though. Here's a picture from the first day I set up the board (missing my Count to 5, DD-6, and Super Radical Delay).
I'm curious what all applications y'all use the Patchulator for. I'd say the main utility it has provided me is easily switching between two sub-boards and one large board, depending on what kind of live set I'm playing. I do 'acoustic' freak-folk shows where I split my chain into Vox (Green [Reflector -> F13] -> Orange [boost -> TA!FM -> Bitmap] -> Red [No Memory -> Proverb -> Buzzz] -> Ditto -> PA) and guitar (Black [pitchfactor] -> purple [DL4] -> PA), but I also play gigs with full bands on either guitar or sax, and I like my board all in one piece for those. The Patchulator has allowed me to swap setups with next to 0 mental effort, and has probably saved me at least a few hours of frustratedly rearranging my board. Of course, it's also great for when you get a new pedal & wanna figure out where to put it, or for swapping inputs.
Do y'all have any other hacks or tricks that make the Patchulator more user friendly? Or how do you use it?

Monthly reminder that I had exactly this idea before this was released, and pretty much everyone except the benevolent LG shouted me down because it was impractical.

So I have a dumb question... I this a power supply as well? I get that you connect your pedal's cables to the "send" and "return" jacks, and that you can easily change your signal chain order without physically moving any pedals, but does it power your pedals as well? It's not like a Voodoo Lab power supply alternative, right?

It does not power your pedals, no.

Provided you don't cross the streams, you can use this for audio and control signals simultaneously, right?

You'll probably never be able to beat the costs of a premade patchbay either (and you could mount it under a board).
It can be done, but it just is a lot of money to invest to create new logistical problems.
There are just simplier and better solutions in my opinion.
