I blame the eighties for bad music. It started a lot of cool scenes, but it started the ideal of "looks before talent" in pop culture and society has suffered because of it. Milli Vanilli is THE example of eighties crap.
Also I lot of my favourite bands came out with great songs at this time, so I don't hate it too bad.

I used to hate the 80's, then I grew up and realized I wasn't looking in the right direction 
but there was a lot of shit music, there always is. Some even got mentioned in this thread, due to nostalgia I suspect and hope
