I want it to be made into a big broadway musical.
And who would play Rockatanski in this broadway musical?
Uh Hugh Jackman?
Yeah, that's got to be it, right?
Or a sack of potatoes.
The sack of potatoes would probably give a better performance. Hugh Jackman is a fucking arsehat.
Last time I checked, Steve Bisley isn't dead.....
And he really does resemble a sack of potatoes these days.

I don't remember any puns at all.
And the effects were elegant and beautiful.

True there were no puns, although I'm not sure about the effects to be honest. The whole thing was just style and explosions over substance.

I was thinking about this last night and I realised, and NO point while watching it, was I not aware I was watching a movie. Which is a pretty damning review in my book.

You better not be. Take it the whole way. Make the police fear pulling you over. It needs to be glorious enough to ride into Valhalla!

Foh.
I still haven't seen it...but this statement is as hyperbolically wrong as anything I've read in the comments section on youtube.

I have watched the trailers, promo footage, behind the scenes stuff and a half dozen various clips. Everything I've seen relegates it to the back burner.
NSFW: show
I'm a hypocrite because I do enjoy approaching stories from different perspectives and greatly appreciate the variety between creative vision. Also grindhouse, b-movies, prequels, sequels and familiar characters developed in new ways.
But "no thanks" to movies giving me the vibe they were made to tick boxes in support of any specific meta narrative...while the producers were on some "suckers love this 3edgy5u" shit...reeking of test audience and marketing dept interference and shoehorned politics.
Loathe *flash editing* especially when full of reaction shots that do nothing to drive the story. No taste for all sizzle, steak-lacking substance that makes me :whateva: at every predictably unbelievable cliche action. "Oh stupid's going to fall down here, bumble the gun there but conveniently avoid that trap, then suddenly get overpowered by the character who'd get murked irl" etc.

I worked in and used to hang around a video store so I'm pretty fucked up

I think it should be understood that it's a gushing opinion, not stated as an obvious fact. To take it as such and then using your own opinion as justification as why it's not... is stupid.

Slow your fucking roll Tarantino it basically does 'action movie' right no ifs and or buts about it. I skipped it in theaters for a lot of the same concerns you had, and none of them are justified.
