If she kind of copies or very slightly modifies Devi Ever designs she no longer owns or has rights to, does that mean that she becomes JHS? Maybe it's a performance art piece she is doing: "The Builder formerly known as Devi Ever becomes JHS; the caterpillar enters the cocoon and emerges as the beast".

I wonder about the wording of the non-compete. If it just stated that she wouldn't attempt to build pedals under the Devi Ever name, I guess going back to the old E13 name is a loophole. I can't imagine that something that obvious would slip through when drawing up that document though. If it's more airtight than that, then this is some real shit.

Non competes generally prevent the other person from entering into a similar business. That's my general understanding and what I assume the non compete agreement was

Devi, here's the thing about this whole company. Now if you're intention isn't to directly compete with a company that bought you out, why use the name that you used before Devi Ever? I mean, you have enough followers. Why not call it something else? Anything else? I'm being serious. No drama. Just a question.

Again, no idea how your non compete is written, and I know they can be various as I've signed them many times. As far as I've seen though, this would be a breach of the non compete and a legal matter. Which sucks. No one needs that.

I would imagine that as the previous business entity was linked exclusively to her name, starting up E13 again (a similar business, directly involved in building the same product, with what is arguably a similar demographic of potential customer base) and registering it in the same name would probably prove to be a violation of contract. Like you said though, all in the specific terms.

Time to lawyer up, I'd say. Not that anyone would really want to see it come to that.
