I know it is expensive, but the Moogerfoogers really are no brainers with the Sub 37 because of all CV routing possibilities which I haven't even explored yet. Maybe save up for one. It may take a few months but at least it will give you something that will go a very long way.

I've had my "like new" Sub Phatty for sale, locally, for $700. I might be persuaded to ship it to an ILFer, in the US, for $750.

ha ha ha. Yeah, that's just not going to happen. $600-700 is more than I've paid for most of my guitars! I've looked the mini fooger delay though, but there's no knobbies for modulation at all

I've played both and both are a lot of fun. I wanted to the Sub Phatty cause they can be had for $700ish and I liked the simplicity of it, but the Sub 37 does so much.

My sub 37 arrived today. yay!!! it even smelled new out of the box before i got it high on fuzz. That awesome 1.1 firmware isn't out yet, but I see they released software for the sub 37 allowing you to re-map the key notes to whatever scales you want. I'll have to explore that

So I ended up going with my TAFM and buying a Pigtronix echolution 2 deluxe with remote control for a good price used on reverb. I have been pretttttty happy once I realized I should not send dedicated midi channel information to it (just midi beat clock/sync). The sound is real impressive especially the stereo spread. I'm running the midi out of the sub 37 (ch2) into the echolution's in (looking for ch1). This will send the clock but NOT the program changes or the CC's. I can use the arpeggiator rate knob (while off) on the sub 37 to control the speed of the delay and make it all fucked up.... or turn the arpeggiator on and have everything in lockstep for vintage sounding echo madness. I also like the "jump" button on the remote control to create some glitchy sounding octave up effects

Now I'm kinda looking at (another) phaser. I already have a whetstone, but it is on my guitar board. maybe I will eventually end up with the moog phaser instead of their delay.

Also that 1.1 firmware came out a few weeks ago, and the step sequencer changes (and the mod source destination) updates are sweet

Seriously though, it's soooo huge sounding. Heavily considering selling it to put towards a 37 but I love the small keyboard for bass lines

I keep watching videos. The routing options are incredible.

Mine is sitting right next to me. I haven't had a lot of time this summer for writing and recording, but I play it almost every day. It is really, really nice synthesizer. The new firmware's modulation source trick makes it really fast to change destinations with no menu diving. Tone wise, it can get extremely heavy with the sub-octave, feedback, and filter multidrive. I still have a fuzz hooked up to it, but some patches I'd say wouldn't necessarily need one.

Pleasant surprise this morning! I received an email from moog, and they released new firmware and a Windows/OSX editor for the sub 37! I am installing that shitz right now and will report back. I've been eager to bump some of my home-made hardware packages to the computer so that they are saved

firmware upgrade was flawless. i'm on win7 x64 yet. i had issues with their win7 moog usb driver install. i had to clean it manually in the registry to get rid of it. i then tried the win8 driver on my win7 and it took about 5 min for windows to recognize it, but no issues. I hooked up the editor and backed up all my hardware patches. I didn't get into it beyond that yet, but the step sequencer section of the editor looks fuckin awesome

I tried a Sub37 in a music store. It was so cool, I felt I needed one. But can't pay 1500€ for a new one, nor 1000€ for an used one. I took a look at the sub phatty; it looks good, more buttons to tweak than the little/slim phatty, that's what I like. No arpeggiator though but it looks like a lot of sub phatty's users use the Beatstep from Arturia.
There's also a slim phatty for cheap no so far from home and was also looking for the monilogue. Not easy to decide...
