There is quite some truth in this post, but I do like setting all my pedals for unity gain. I hate output jumping between different pedals. Unless I want it to. At which point I set it up for somewhere closer to unity than infinite gain.

Infinity can be countable (you can have multiples of infinity). It's a pretty interesting branch of maths that I know mostly nothing about. Multiples of one are always one. So I'd say unity is fairly different infinity.
We need a maths major in here.
