Rum and Coke is a good start.

if you want the spicy version, the "Dark and Stormy" is a personal fave:

The standards are always a good place to start. Vodka (Ketel One) tonic, Gin (Hendricks) and tonic, Highball / 7 & 7 (Seagrams Seven), etc.

Ah yes, Dark & Stormy very good. I prefer mine with Barritt's Ginger Beer though.
My usual (Does it count as a "mixed drink" ? )is bourbon + rocks.

Goya Ginger Beer is super spicy and cheap, too.

A dude I work with makes homemade ginger beer expressly for Dark + Stormy's. Super Gnar.

Dark and stormy's are by far my favourite mixed drinks. That and whiskey/bourbon with like anything.
I'm a pretty terrible drunk though, I tend to just keep drinking and drinking and black out, so I pretty much avoid liquor.
I'm good with beer though

drinking until I black out is my preferred method of falling asleep

I like this one called Bourberry. It's 2 cl bourbon, 3 cl Kahlúa and about 5 cl cranberry juice.

I also really like bourbon+coke, manhattan, old fashioned, white russian and black russian.
