A stingray is pretty boss with flatwounds and doesn't sound so aggressive. The flats push it back in the mix where it purrs like a big cat.

I can't afford a real Stingray but them SUB Ray4's are alright with me. I should get one.

black always goes with and is the best choice for everything though

Especially black with a maple fretboard.

Also, Bassist_Diver hasn't posted in over a year. So, I'm not sure why you think an answer from him is coming any time soon.

I upgraded most all the parts. Sold yesterday. It was a good exercise in building. I want to do a Bronco or Jazz with humbuckers next.
