Well see israel is trying to systematically eradicate an entire people. This tends to piss off the entire muslim community. This is bad for us as we publicly support israel. I live in a community that has many Muslim immigrants and go to school with a prominent Muslim population and contrary to your beliefs, none of them hate non-Muslims and regard atheists (like myself) and people of other religions quite highly.

I'm not a fan of religion either but it is here and it isn't going anywhere and being hateful and bitter about it isn't going to solve the problems humanity faces.

Fact, Its really fucking hot there. I've been 3 times to one of the not so nice country's and we once recorded a temp of 140 Fahrenheit. That maxed out the thermometer.
Fact, 140-150 is the temp that your body starts to not be able to handle the temp and can cause brain damage.
Fact, there isn't a hell of a lot to do aside from religious activity.
Fact, If i was stuck living there I'd hate the fuck out of every country with air conditioning for 80 degree weather and hot chicks too.
So you've got religiously indoctrinated populations who may be brain damaged and have not a lot to do but lots of weapons and the promise of being remembered as a martyr and rewards in the afterlife, which cannot be worse than their current life.
No wonder there tend to be issues with coexistence.

Just to clarify, I think any group of people who live in that area would become militant. Not a big fan of how Muslims treat their women though. Religion sucks.

Not true dude. Some stuff hasn't change especially regarding basic contract rules from the Napoleon era but... The Code de Procédure Civile (Civil Procedure Code) was redone from 1935 to 1973. In civil procedure, the claimant has to produce proof to support his claim while the defendant has to produce proof as well to support his defense. They're both considered innocent till a judge states otherwise. The Code de Procédure Pénale (Crime/offenses and such procedure code) was elaborated from 1945-1946 to 1958. Both of these codes contain a modern version of the presumption of innocence which already existed in the Napoleonic code and first and foremost during the Revolution.

The major difference between the anglosaxon way and ours is that you have an adversarial system (two parties represented by a lawyer are trying to convince the judge) where we have an inquisitorial system in our crime courts, in which a judge (juge d'instruction) leads the police forces in their investigation, examine witnesses, interrogate the suspects and such. If they manage to get enough material to support their theory, the case is then transmitted to be examined by a jury or a another group of judge depending on the crime which will decide on the verdict after reviewing the facts and evidence. The major advantage is that you don't have to pay top lawyer fees so that you get a decent investigation of your case. The major drawback is that with the cutbacks in the police forces it has become a rather painful (longer) process to do proper investigation (well, what I think is proper investigation).

Seriously, the only procedure that you can worry about in France is in front of an administrative court, cause it's still the Napoleonic organization in there and it's a PITA. We have a Republic FFS, why does that shitty stuff still exists here ? We still have so much work Also, politics are making it harder for the justice to work properly. OK. I will comment. I have been to Israel and I have experienced the Old City first hand as well as Palestine, Jordan, Tel Aviv, Bethlahem...etc. I was there for 10 days and my brother stayed for 40. While I was there the people who treated me the worst were the Hasidic Jews. They sneered at me, talked bad about me in front of my face, tried to charge me more for items that were clearly marked certain prices, and many other things I'd rather not comment on. Why? Because I'm from the United States AND because I have tattoos. That beings said I was also poorly treated by people int he Christian Quarter (mostly Arabic people)there as well. The old city is divided into 4 Quarters.

The only sections of the Old City I felt comfortable in were the Muslim and Armenian Quarters. Why? Because they didn't treat me like a second class citizen. The Armenians were very humble and kind and would go out of their way to help you out. The Muslims seemed hostile (only because of my own fear and prejudice), but in fact were kind and just kept to themselves mostly. They also would bargain with me on prices of literally everything. So I'd shop there the most.

Now that I've said that. I have nothing against any of them. They all have their different reasons for being angry. The Muslims want the land and so do the Jews. The Armenians had almost all of their people and entire race slaughtered. The Christians are trying desperately to reform everyone into their belief system.

Who's the bad guy? None of them. It's all mis-communication from thousands of years ago.

My point is things are not always what they seem. Yes their is hostility between the people. Yes there is war. But are they any different than our Government who tries to reform and control the entire fucking world?
