I was only half-joking about that. Mids can be really fucking obnoxious if they're overdone. If you've ever played a Tubescreamer, they have a huge peak in the mids, and sound as honky as a flock of geese. But at least the audience will hear you. That's why I do it. You'll see at ILFEST, the mid knob on my amp is at 10. And I never move it.

I propose the creation of a Dimebag Darryl themed effect called the DimeScoop. It's all mid controls, like 5 Mid knobs but every knob's zero point is at 10 out of 10, and turning them clockwise scoops out the center frequency until your ear drums are sucked out of your head. Randall could/should make this.
