Honestly, there isn't really a noise scene here that I know of but as far as living here it's pretty nice and not terribly expensive. Public Transportation is pretty solid too if you don't want to deal with a car. It's kind of hipsterish but the population is generally made up of decent people.

LOL. That actually briefly ran through my head today. However, I will take a LOT of sweet talking to get me to move to the Midwest. I cannot explain how much I am over snow. I will take the months on end of rain in the Pacific Northwest any time over months and months of snow and ice and what have you. But it's not entirely out of the question yet, either. I did grow up in Colorado, so it's not like I don't know how to deal with it.

I do have a car, though I am in the middle of paying it off (so a job would be of bigger than normal importance) but I like to bike to get regular exercise and save gas money and blah blah blah.

Oh, and for the most part. hipsters=fan base if done right. I think.

Well this winter we barely had any snow, it was awesome :yay:

But I hear you on the snow, it does suck but if you live in a semi busy area shit gets cleaned up real fast.

Whoever did, have u ever even seen the wire?

Not trying to lead anyone to danger and I do like The Wire and Homicide. If you can steer clear of trouble, though, there seem to be signs of a very strong music community in an affordable small-to-mid sized city in tourable distances to a lot of other cities. Lots of people there seem to be doing interesting music (and trying to start up more of the same, to judge by CL ads) and some have broken nationally. I haven't looked much further, but I seriously would if I were moving to do music.

if you're going to take television crime dramas as a guide to city life, better avoid NYC...according to CBS it's apparently chock-full of racist skinheads LOL.

Maybe it's because I've lived in MN my whole life but I actually prefer a colder climate to warmer ones :idk:

Plus it's absolutely beautiful in Northern MN/Wisconsin near Lake Superior

just out of curiosity, since I always entertain the outlandish idea of leaving America...... I've heard that getting gear and such down there is way more expensive than, say, America/Europe? How off -base am I with this assumption? And isn't it crazy hard to move there?

Also, added this to my main post...
I don't really get weird when I end up in big-ish cities (Denver, for one) but I really need my trees and water and shit. Thus, the attempted move to the Northwest.

Denver is tiny man. Maybe a less urban place is better then?

my understanding is that Aussie immigration requirements are hella strict. if it weren't for that, and the weird climate and terrifying Flora/Fauna Of Doom, i'd consider it...the US has never given a fuck about lower/working-class white people like me.
