When I said "right up front", I meant in theaters, not before they come out. That would have been a very silly thing to say. But, yeah, I was only taking into account the bigger movies when I said "quite often". Still, the film industry is making as high of profits as ever despite that apparent slew of unsuccessful movies, so they're still being disingenuous when they act like pirating is destroying the industry. :idk:

But, yeah, you're right. I sorta pulled the film industry thing out of my ass with the basic knowledge of a few movies profits and the profits of the film industry as a whole.

I dunno if I'd blame all the shitty 3D movies on piracy, though. I think the gimmick just hasn't worn off yet.

On the anti-piracy laws... piracy is already illegal. It's just not really possible to enforce without causing problems. Nobody is going to stand for the government monitoring their internet activity, after all (ok, they sorta do that already). And apparently censoring the internet is out of the question, so what other solutions are there?
