I'm sorry, but stereotypes against white people really aren't very damaging at all.
What even are stereotypes against white people?
What happened to Behdy is terrible, and if it was racially motivated (and I have no doubt it was), it's just as racist as if it happened the other way around-- but that's just not something that's happening all the time.
Racism against white people just isn't a big problem, and pretending it is is kinda silly. Racism against black people, however, is still a problem. Tons of white people (many of which I'm related to) have a very negative view of black people in general-- they view them as lazy thugs-- and that view is damaging. It affects the help black communities can get. Even a fucking community center can be a big deal around here-- because white people are offended their tax money is being spent on black people that, in their view, don't deserve it. They totally ignore that these communities could benefit greatly from this sort of thing, if they could just get the funding for it.

Pretending white people don't have a racial advantage is like pretending women make as much money as men. It's just inaccurate, and we need to stop pretending so we can get around to fixing it.

pretending ALL white people have a racial advantage is also inaccurate. poor people are still poor. meth addicts are still addicted. a white single mother on crack raising two kids in a trailer park is not comparatively advantaged compared to the black crack mom living in the trailer next door.

i'd never say that everybody's treated equally. but at least where i've lived, being white doesn't exclude you from racist shit. saying that "racist stuff aimed at white people isn't damaging".... c'mon. me getting beat the fuck up for being white by only black kids is an extreme example, but in this part of California you're MUCH more likely to see that then the other way around. at least when i was in high school and college. i don't spend a lot of time around large groups of people outside of shows or playing basketball, and i don't go spots where that bullshit jumps off. so maybe it's swung the other way and every black kid walking around is beset by ravening privileged mobs of honkeys?
all that's really besides the point though isn't it? while i don't agree with a lot of what Le CK is saying up thar, and especially with that quote "if you're white, and you don't admit that it's great, you're an asshole".... i think it's funny. same way almost anything can be funny when used in the right context.

According to the National Center for Children in Poverty, 38.2% of black children live in poverty, versus only 12.4% of white children. For Hispanics it's 35%, and Asians 13.6%.
Now, since I refuse to believe there's some genetic reason for this, I think it's safe to say attitudes toward race, or at the very least previous attitudes toward race, play a substantial role in poverty.

Aside from the ridiculous notion that racism against white people is as bad as against minorities, the OP's comment about women being gimmicks in bands is worthy of a kick in the balls, if not full on banning.
Come on guys, when will you stop assuming its a fucking gimmick and accept that women DO, in fact, like to play music.

Racism is racism, sexism is sexism. I personally don't feel as though racism towards one isn't as damaging as racism towards another. Racism is racism and it ALL sucks. I've seen horrible examples of racism in my life (white against black, black vs. white). I've seen the race card played when a valid argument for someone's stance or position was nowhere to be found, and I've even seen the reverse-racism card played under the same type of circumstances. Good luck getting attention if you are a guy in a group that has a female frontwoman, period, no matter what you do. I'm not being sexist here, that is the fucking truth. Every single band on earth that is fronted by a woman, 99% of the audience wouldn't be able to pick anyone else in that band out of a fucking lineup or tell you any of their names. Audiences see a female singer and immediately block anyone else on stage out of their minds and eyes.

You're pushing it.
The full word is actually blocked (try it), but you can get around by spelling it differently.
I dunno if it was Tom or someone else who set up that filter, but it should show you what the people who run ILF think of that word.
...and yes I'm aware it's been used in the past and has slid by, I guess this thread was just unlucky enough to have my attention
