me and my friend Lina were having a drunken conversation about dubstep, when we realized it's similar to an STD.

The Stooges are the culmination point because while bands in the past had SOME of the energy, it wasn't lyrically directed in the same places as punk, and The Stooges were that point, as well as (arguably) some of the stuff on the lower east side on NYC

As just a primer, check out both of the Nuggets boxed sets. One from the USA, one from parts beyond. There are more obscure bands that have all the wildness of The Stooges. It's kinda like The Ramones; it's more them coming out on top of history. Rock N Roll Survivors = WIN.

the difference is the direction, imo. and im a p big fan of the Nuggets series and other world garage comps
