God that movie sucked.

It absolutely did. The real animal deaths and some of the shit got to me though.

You know, having lived on a farm and having raised animals that were for our dinner purposes, animal deaths still get to me, but not that much. But in this film it was seriously unneeded and only there for the shock value of it. The rest of the deaths and mutilations just became so stupidly sickening that I skipped the movie ahead. Then the story sucked and was pointlessly typical.

Supposedly some of the mutilations were done on real dead bodies though, which as a human being kinda makes me wonder how it wasn't considered a snuff film.

It was certainly a game changer for me. I agree.

I used to be into the whole "I'm going to see something fucked up because its cooool" buzz, but post that film, I just wanted nothing to do with sickening stuff anymore. I still like horror, just don't have the patience, don't feel the need to expose myself to these torture porn or exploitation films that seem to be gaining popularity.

I wouldn't see 'A Serbian Film', for example. I want to see Martyrs but I have my reservations. Glad to hear 'Frontier(s)' is not something I'm missing out on etc.

Oh, and if you guys want fucked up, all the boxes are ticked:

Infanticide, rape, torture, vomiting... necropedophilia (though I didn't get that far in the flick to see).

Oh, and yeah. It's on Google Video:

'August Underground Mordem'. One of those things a buddy put on that I walked out of after 20 minutes.

^lol I think I'll pass.

Any more films out there that are unsettling and make you think hard about them that aren't just there for the shock factor? I watched Ichi The Killer last night, and my head is still a bit confused and such due to the story telling, which was quite good! Yes there was a lot of over the top violence and goofy campy torture scenes, but my mind kinda just blew past them really.

But I want some films that make you think and sit uncomfortable in your seat watching it due to the possibility of the horror happening. Not necessarily a gore fest, but something that has a bit of restraint.

Enter the Void to me was this way in a sense due to the fact that it didn't have the excessive scene's featured just for their shock content. Yes there was the abortion scene and the sex hotel scene, but these are part of real life, and even though some may not want to see them, they still happen. But gore for the sake of "hey look at this intestine, I can play a tune on it if i stretch it" gets old fast, and is kinda sickening.

if you like Ichi The Killer and havna seen Audition you should check that out. the main grrL is genuinely one of the most disturbing characters ever. whenever i watch it my feelings about her flop through almost the entire gamut of emotions.

and there's a lot of horrific violence through implication.

i LURV Miike Takashi.

Yeah, I was hoping that this thread was going to give me a bunch of movies to check out, in the sense that "fucked up" meant "mind-fuck" or insanely weird and convoluted plot that makes me question shit.

Not fucked up in the sense of gore-fest torture-porn stuff. :(

Ichi The Killer was actually really good as far as I'm concerned, so I'll check out Audition one of these days as well. It's on Netflix instant as well, which means I get to abuse my brothers login even more. :D

Ichi good. Ichi Zero or whatever the prequel was? fucking AWFUL. The Dead Or Alive Trilogy is great. first one is the most actiony action film EVER (the climatic battle blows up the Earth forfuckssake), the 2nd is a thoughtful take on reclaiming innocence and paying for what you've done, and the final is an odd, sorta Blade Runner weird kinda gritty SciFi thing... where the two main characters end up merged into a giant cock robot at the end.

Tadanabu Asano does some great movie too. i still haven't seen Survive Style 5+ yet... can't find it for less than $50. damnit.

for Not Gory, But Fucked With Me it was probably The Fountain that bothered me the most. cancer makes me sad.

Takashi Miike? ;)

I have watched and watched some of the most fucked up films and the more I watch them, the less I enjoy them. Nothing surprises or disgusts me anymore unless it's based on real life. Human Centipede made me chuckle.

The ones I enjoy the most are the Japanese /Asian films. Especially the revenge based ones. Recently watched I Saw the Devil and it was fucking amazingly done. Great movie.

Always open to fucked up movie suggestions, but I'm growing to hate low budget films. I want some quality in my films and a lot of low budget (not all of course) cannot offer very much.

What about 13 Assasins? I'm about halfway through it right now and it seems pretty decent.

I keep thinking about watching it, let me know what you think. The damn reviews aren't too good, but that doesn't always matter. I fucking loved Izo (which some said was Miike's worst) I mean come on! Bob Sapp gets fucked up!! Who wouldn't love to see that! I generally LOVE all of Miike's films regardless of the genre. He's a fantastic director.
