DAMN. The green looks incredible, actually!

Has it been pointed out that the tops aren't actually figured, and that they're actually machine marks from carving the tops? They just don't sand them. It's actually a texture on the top. And it's kind of awesome in person.

That said, I feel like they should cost under a grand. :idk:

imo the BFG is the only thing gibson has done in the past 5 years that they didn't screw something up with.

The idea of it is way cool. HB/P90 is awesome, and at least it's something different.

And I don't think there's a soul here that won't agree that the BFG isn't 10,000 times cooler than the Gibson Robot guitars. Or the Goth Gibsons. Or that Digital/robot/whatthefuckisthatthing Firebird X abortion that they came out with.

imo the p-90/hb combo is the perfect lead/rhythm matchup.

and i like the idea of the robot guitars, just... their marketing is fucking terrible, and instead of making that lame-ass blue silverburst finish, they should have just made it a regular-ass gibson finish. dunno about you guys, but i like the idea of having alternate tunings on the fly/poifect tuning all the time.

but yeah. Firebird X is a TOTAL misapplication of technology, a total misunderstanding of the direction of the industry (ok, not TOTAL), and a design so bad it almost makes the RD look perdy.

ALMOST

It is sweet. The P90 has such a cool, smokey, alive tone. I love using the middle position. A really deep tone that maintains the clarity of the highs. I could sit on the P90 for ever. I like the finish and color, but I like things that are different. It's mostly black with green highlights.

Lovin it
